In this video, we headed over to Amoy Street Food Centre to do a $100 hawker food challenge! I'm joined by my Taiwanese friend ‪@alieats‬ which is also a fellow KZfaqr that's based in Singapore.
There's a bunch of hit and misses but overall the food is good. Do take note that most of the stall closed relatively earlier as it's more of a breakfast - lunch hawker.

She is very detailed and sharp. Can really give honest, lucid explanations and reviews. And very professional so not surprisingly she can pretty much remember most of the names of the food and dishes once the stall owners introduced her.

Wow I am very impressed when you said you used a separate utensil for the last dish,which is halal. I don’t think many people do that if they order both halal and non halal dishes. And the anecdote by your guest about that guy she went on a date with,I am shocked that any guy can be so stingy as to ask the girl that you are on date with to pay for a drink that cost $1.50! hi zermatt, just so u know, as a sarawakian, i can vouch that there are 2 sarawakian stalls that taste quite legit at amoy hawker. they r called swan city and sarawak kolo mee. u should try it out and see if u like it. anyway if u r interested, i can also bring u around kuching, sarawak to taste local delicacies in my hometown. no profits for me, just that i love watching u eat and would definitely like to see how u rank sarawakian food as an overall.

For your Black Pepper Beef bowl, you should have added 2 Onsen eggs. Spread the egg yolk all over the Beef and Rice to get a much richer taste. Thanks for the episode.. 👍👏💪

That pink rice cake is called teochew peng kuay( 潮州饭果), that goes well with sweet black sauce with Chilli. you can also cut it up and pan fry it with eggs(Also uber nice to eat). You should get megan to go with you and give this taiwan babe alison a shock on how much a girl can eat. The porkchop you mentioned 柴 it means the pork was over done the meat is too dry and stiff.

Cant believe same Kway Teow uncle is still there. I was in SG 2011-2014 and went there several times (Work in Capital Tower). It was ok - he was one of only a few open on public holiday (except CNY). I preferred the CKT in Maxwell (also think still there!) - Opposite Sunto Gyoza (lived in Club St, so Maxwell was my local hawker). Best stall in Amoy was "!Good Day" for dried beef hor fun - i don't think same stall there, but saw another reviewer buying dried beef hor fun from Amoy and same presentation, same everything, so maybe relatives take over stall, or stall rename? PS - when full, I can still eat bread - must be separate stomach for bread :P
