Thanks again for mentioning me :) I also think some choices are stupid, especially for Ringo (a bit too many) and George (outtakes instead of Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp, I Live For You..also an outtake but its like a studio version, If Not For You, Got My Mind Set On You, All Those Years Ago and Stuck Inside A Cloud). For John I think the classics like Watching The Wheels, Woman etc are too low and I miss Cold Turkey, Stand By Me, Nobody Loves You, How Do You Sleep and and some Paul hits like Silly Love Songs, Mull Of Kintyre, Let Em In, No More Lonely Nights or My Love are missing completely and also beautiful songs like The Back Seat Of My Car and Ram On. I btw disagree with you about Junk, its a stand out track of those beautiful little acoustic Paul songs. On spotify its right now in the top 10 most streamed Paul songs aswell! In the end this list keeps the Beatles solo years relevant and people talk about it and find new deep cuts, thats much needed these days! Cheers!

Agreed. I think that some of the choices, particularly the Harrison outtakes, would have been better served in a 'hidden treasures' article, rather than having them punching above their weight by placing them above more accomplished and recognised songs.

Songs I'd have on my list that did not make it. A lot of Paul to start off: Helen Wheels, Junior's Farm, Rock Show, Coming Up, Let 'Em In, Take It Away, Every Night. (I think I am probably missing a lot). George: All Those Years Ago, When We Was Fab, I Got My Mind Set On You, If Not For You, Crakerbox Palace Ringo: Liverpool 8 John: I couldn't think of any, for me at least, though I'd have Watching The Wheels a lot higher on my list than how it was presented here.

Good video. Some interesting choices but overall hard to argue against. I’m just glad Helen Wheels didn’t make the list which I was worried it would 😊 My favourites from each are - John: Instant Karma, Cold Turkey, Mind Games, Isolation, I Found Out and I’m Losing You; Ringo: Photograph, Wrack My Brain, Back Off Boogaloo, It Don’t Come Easy, Sunshine Life for Me and King of the Kingdom; George: I’d Have You Anytime, Give Me Love, Faster, Living in the Material World, Blow Away and My Sweet Lord; Paul: Maybe I’m Amazed, Beware My Love, Somedays, Let Me Roll It, With a Little Luck and Winedark Open Sea… I like that title 😊

Dear Boy is another glaring omission for me, as are Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, No More Lonely Nights, Eat At Home and Let Me Roll It John: Intuition, Power To The People, I Know (I Know), Watching The Wheels. #9 Dream would have been much higher too. George: Love Comes To Everyone, Your Love Is Forever, Lay His Head and Someplace Else.

Thanks for the high quality entertainment on this one, Larry. Speaking only for myself, I would enjoy a video (or series maybe?) from you discussing discographies of bands you enjoy but that your viewers may be unfamiliar with. Maybe a series along the lines of Bands Larry Thinks You Should Know. Just my two cents. Thanks for all you do.

Larry, so very glad to have come across you. Here's my top in order three from each- John- Jealous Guy Happy Xmas (War is Over) God Apologies, I suppose, should be given to Imagine, I used to like it but since his tragic death have become overly saturated by hearing it so as to be put well off. Paul- Band on the Run Jet A draw between Rock Show and Listen to What the Man Said I also love Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey but must ask (as I did the other day with Goodnight and All Together Now) is this a legitimate or a guilty pleasure? I suspect the latter but I hope not. George- All Things Must Pass My Sweet Lord Isn't it a Pity? (Esp the more driving, insistent version of the two.) Also, one I like a lot but which I have a story for, What is Life. When I was growing up we didn't have the nostalgic radio channels as you across the pond did, it was much later that such things as classic rock stations came along. Thus, if you didn't have the records yourself you were unlikely to have heard of them, never mind actually heard them. It was only as late as well into the '90s that I bought the All Things... album. Upon hearing this track it drove me crazy all day trying to think of where I knew it from. And then the penny dropped. KAA-CHING!!! Goodfellas, and helicopters above following Henry Hill around. Ringo- Photograph Back off Boogaloo (his brief foray into the glam rock that I and all my mates were into ourselves back then, I was a massive Sweet fan.) It Don't Come Easy I do have to admit though that of the latter two band members, only the first songs of each that I mentioned I really LOVE, not just like and enjoy. I could probably have added double figures-worth of John and Paul songs I prefer to their second and third.

I would put: Paul's "1882", "Wild LIfe", "Mr Bellamy", "Save us", "Rinse the Raindrop", "C Moon", "Wild Life" .... and I'm not considering any Fireman and Twin Freaks songs George's: "The Ballad of Sir Frankie Crips (let it roll)", "Bangladesh", "Not Guilty" [although the Anthology version is better], "Dark Horse" [nonwithstanding his voice], "When we was fab" John's ; "The Luck of the Irish", "Steel and Glass", "Mother", "Power to the People", "Cold Turkey"

I'd have "Imagine" at #1. I actually think "The Back Seat Of My Car" is better than "Maybe I'm Amazed". At least they used the studio version for their list. More often than not, I hear the 1976 live version of "Maybe I'm Amazed' on the radio, or on satellite networks.

I love Ringo, but he is over represented here... The other 3 have too many great songs to include songs like Stardust, You're Sixteen, Early 1970, No No Song, or anything from Sentimental Journey or his country album or some rather unknown newer songs that were mentioned. That being said... I'd include Back off Boogaloo, It Don't Come Easy, and Photograph. I would perhaps add his version of Only You, Wings, and his ode to George- Never Without You. I totally agree with you about the out-takes. I don't know how #9 Dream was not in the top 20... Mother also should had made the top 20. I would also add George's My Sweet Lord and Paul's Letting Go.

Great idea for a list: ranking 100 songs by John, Paul, George and Ringo, released after the band broke up. Guaranteed to raise the hackles of every single person who looks at it. Among the many unusual rankings was placing Mind Games above Imagine. Why not? They are both great song. Love ‘em both. Thanks for sharing, Larry. Rolling Stone lost me years ago.

Rolling stone is ridiculous. Not just this list but all the others too. The top 10 is ok, but some of the other choices such as completely unknown George Harrison unfinished songs, and some from ringos first album are weird and wrong choices. I would have included tracks such as “is that all” by George, “my love”, “silly love songs”, “your love is forever”, “daytime nighttime suffering”, “cold turkey”.

I agree Back Seat of My Car is great and too Woman oh Why. Maybe I'm Amazed is rarely placed above Imagine so for me I was very pleased to see those two rankings as I have always thought Imagine vastly overrated and Maybe I'm Amazed a far better song. Just one person's opinion though. Venus and Mars is one aweseome album - well pointed out sir.

RS appears obssessed with including as many George songs as they can hence outtakes and The Travelling Wilbury's material. Frankly that is a ridiculous approach to take. Imagine if they were to include McCartney outtakes of which there are dozens. Just tends to bring the listing somewhat into question. Paul's So Bad was on Pipes of Peace plus Broadstreet - why I will never uderstand. I too don't care much for it. However I find myself sharing your opinion a great deal with Junk being one I do rate highly. I am not a fan of Egypt Station and believe it making number one said more about marketing genius then musical quality. It was fun to look through. Thanks.

I've never liked "Maybe I'm Amazed." It's the same melody over and over. I'm with you on some of the weird choices that shouldn't be on the list. I can think of so many other songs by the Foursome much better than any of them. Quite a few songs from RAM could have made the list. It's funny how I can never remember the names of the songs on LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD. Sounds like you have the same problem! Interesting list. Thanks for doing it.

On my list I'd have more of McCartney's songs. Including: My Love Helen Wheels Mrs. Vandebilt Junior's Farm Long Tailed Winter Bird (2020) Plus: Snookeroo (Starr w. E. John) Not Guilty (Harrison) This was a good opportunity to re-familiarize myself with some old songs. Yes, it's a silly list, but kind of fun.

For me The Beatles didn't stop in 1970, they kept going and all their solo discographies are part of The Beatles' discography. I mean, Paul and John recorded Blackbird and Julia, respectively, by themselves in 1968: We still consider them Beatles songs. George recorded Within You Without You alone with no other beatle present in the studio, still you will say that's a Beatles song. Or Good Night as well, with only Ringo singing or playing off the band. Yet, you don't consider songs like I'm The Greatest or All Those Years Ago (Both of them recorded with THREE Beatles in the studio) worth of your attention as they were released after 1970. And the collaborations between the four are many, many more, songwriting-wise or in the studio, and they still carry on to this day occasionally by the two remaining Beatles (Which, again, recorded a song by themselves in 1968, Why Don't We Do It In The Road, that you perfectly consider a Beatles song). Not to mention, lastly, that many many songs on the first few albums by Lennon, McCartney and, especially, Harrison were written even way before the split, some of them also worked on by the band (All Things Must Pass, Junk and Gimme Some Truth just to give you three titles): Do you still consider them not worthy to get bothered to?

I was trying to think of any songs that would have been good for the list and I came up with Let ‘em in, Dance Tonight, C’Moon, and then a George song called Devil’s Radio. Also, there are several songs on Flaming Pie that would have been better than the outtakes. Well, they included several already, but we still have the title track and The World Tonight. They didnt include Coming Up, either. Wow! This list is ridiculous! Btw, Back Seat of My Car is one of his absolute best, in my opinion.
