Forget Rolling Stone's Best 100 Punk Albums list. They don’t even like Punk.
My list is limited to Punk albums that I own on vinyl. I also limited my list to one album per artist.
For extra fun, play the drinking game while watching this video. Have a drink every time I say fantastic.

Glad to see The Stains album. That is an incredible album cover to cover. Doesn't get the attention it deserves. One not included on your list that you should check out is the Red Rockers 1st album, Condition Red. Another album that doesn't get a lot of notice but is a must listen.

What an honor to see your collection, and your respect and knowledge for the genre in general. It's amazing to see how you grew up with all this stuff, how you also searched for some different music in the sea of a bunch of crap, especially without the internet. Great video, there's LOTS of these that I have no idea about, so it's great to hear a top 100 from a true punk!

Glad you put The Cramps 'Songs The lord Taught us' in there, you are also right Never Mind The Bollocks doesn't have a bad song (I am a biased English bloke) and relative to when it came out as it offended the masses in the UK but Dead Kennedy's 'Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables' has the edge on it for me as they were nuts and could scare a young mind into thinking for themselves (thanks Jello) I still play it now when I want some clarity!! Adolescents played Hastings UK before life shut down, top blokes!!! Great gig. Good man, great stuff, great list!! FANTASTIC indeed.

So glad I did, can't wait to check out the tons that was new to me, and it was really cool to see the ones I did know mixed in. Thanks for the kind words. I knew this video might be a bit long but it didn't seem like 36 minutes when I made it. As far as Black Flag is concerned, I wish they would release stuff from the vaults. The Damaged album was actually their 3rd attempt. They scraped the first and released their first EP when Keith Morris quit. They recorded the songs with Dez but didn't want to sing anymore. So Henry joined and they rerecorded the songs again. I know a lot of the tracks are on Everything Went Black but how cool would it be to have a Keith and Dez Damaged album. Greg Ginn made the band practice 5 or 6 days a week so you know there has to be some good practice stuff that was recorded. I have a couple of albums of demos. An official release would be cool.

You must've been hell in the mosh. yes, fantastic. (Ok I see you said something about that yourself haha..). I was clicking in and out, and I swear: every time I come in you were saying 'fantastic'. I think, when I think of Punk bands, I go to British bands. The US hardcore scene came later, and IMO didn't have as wide a variety like UK Punk. Great list. Hey Richie - thanks for this excelent list of Punk albums - it presented me (1st wave punkrocker in Sweden) with a bunch new favourites, like X, The Bugs, The Germs, Angry Samoans. What a collection. You covered most if not all of them Richie. So good to see the Boston bands represented. There were some great punk bands to come out of this area. SSD Control, Pixies, Slapshot, Negative FX, Gang Green, The FU's, Burma, Jerry's Kids, etc. You showed so many great albums. I agree with your Pistols comment. I saw Suicidal T with Slapshot at the Channel in Boston in the mid eighties. Both bands were energetic. I remember people jumping on the stage for most of the shows. I forgot about Fear. Lee Ving was an LA legend was he not? I would have loved to have seen The Germs when they first started doing shows. > Excellent video Rich. I dug your top ten. My short Punk vid brought up a "suggested watch" for this vid... SO GLAD it did ! What a killer list man ! I recognized a little less than half of the titles. While I'm certainly no aficionado of 70s thru 80s punk, I was that metal dude that hung with a hardcore punk crowd who had connections in Hollywood and got any new release by any new punk band on the scene. So I was exposed to a wide variety of great punk. We would hang out at a buddies place and spin records and pirate some of them with blank cassettes, trade home made compilations, etc - great times man... unfortunately, like the Consumers album says: "All my friends are dead", so many of the punkers I hung with are gone... sucks. ANYWAYS.... Thanks for this vid ! I've had a list on my PC desktop for a while now called "A punk album per month" - and it has a list of albums I want to add to my collection, but can only afford one per month... now that I've watched this, the list is longer :-)

Dude! You have impeccable taste in music my man! Marginal Man are criminally under-rated. Did you dig Artificial Peace? I am pretty sure they were the pre Marginal Man band. If you Like Leftover Crack may I suggest Choking Victim, similar to Artificial Peace/Marginal Man, Choking Victim turned into Leftover Crack. I really like the mix of UK and US stuff here, I was born too late and am extremely jealous that I got into 90% of this list long after these bands existed. I also want to make a point that Chron Gen and Infa Riot always had the worse cover art! Great video, great collection, great list. I could talk about this all day haha. Later dude.

Love the Oi movement back in the day. Cockney Rejects, 4 Skins. I had a copy of the good bad and the 4 Skins. Just my opinion, but I’m thinking you could have cut this down to 70 and called it your top hardcore punk bands, since most of your pics were hardcore, especially since so many great bands were left out. The Buzzcocks, Sham 69, 999, The Jam, The Saints, The Undertones, Gang of Four, Generation X, The Stooges, and The Replacements.

I did say this list was limited to what I own. I now own the Saints and Generation X debuts. I would include them now. I do own The Buzzcocks and 999 but did not include them. If I owned The Jam debut or Gang Of Four debut I would have included them. Not sure about The Replacements or Undertones. I did not include The Stooges because they are prepunk. Thanks for watching and leaving a thoughtful comment. You have exposed some holes in my collection.

Ah, you've got 'em written down. Amazing collection, you've probably forgotten more punk rock albums than I've ever heard of. I like Mission of Burma, I got a CD of theirs from the library a while back.I used to have that Violent Femmes LP but I gave it back to a thrift store several years before joining the VC. Stupid move. Saw a good documentary a while back about the guy from Crass. He runs a commune somewhere in the south of England, and anyone who wants to just go and live there can do so. He walks around stalk bollock naked all day though. I like the album titles and cover art of a lot of punk albums.

Sorry, I thought you must have got a written list of what numbers the albums were in your pile. If not, I honestly don't know how you kept track. Even if I do a top 20 and count backwards from 20, I've lost track of what number I'm on by the time I'm holding up the fourth or fifth album.

I stopped on 50th, I will continue the video later. What a cool choice the Alien Sex Fiend one, my favourite goth/Batcave band, always listened to them from my younger punk age. About the Bad Brains, it's just my opinion, I don't think they are the best hardcore band ever, but I'm sure they invented it in the USA, while the Discharge and few others were doing the same in the UK. Also, I have bought some since that would be included. I should do a follow up video.
