I've used the retail model before and it works well. Good build, well done. But there's no way in hell it only cost $100 unless you had most of the parts kick'n around already.

I just watched your video and I to am copying Norwood's Portamill. Unlike yours, mine is a mix of wood and metal parts. There is some similarities between the two, but yours is way nicer. All your welds are nice and neat, as for mine not so!

Awesome build...saved to make later. great workmanship. does your plans have dimensions of all the necessary items like tube ends, grips, and trigger lever (brake cable) or do you need to source them yourselves? As for the wheels, did you make them from a lathe or buy them ?

with this the full width of the log is hitting all the teeth all the time slowing down the saw. with an Alaskan saw mill which is $100 new from amazon, you can swing the saw as you cut to keep the speed up and have less tooth contact with the wood

This is just a guide to keep your bar strait. There's no reason you have to hit all the teeth at once. You could take multiple passes if your saws too small with this, just like any other method by simply backing off the saw.

With all the lumber he cut he built a large crate. He now stores the mill in the crate in his garage and that's where it stays. Never to be seen again . JK dude I like it! But the chain takes forever. Build one with a saw blade!

Андрей, доброго времени суток, у меня вопрос: Вы распил делали "форестой 2,7Квт. цепь 0.325? Просто, делаю что-то похожее, направляйки из ЧПУ по 2 метра+ линейные подшипники по них, так же,использую все готовые детали, которые,можно было снять с высокоточных машин( до войны с орками) которые сдавали в чм , Но, пила- китайченок 52 поршневая, шина-цепь штиль,угол заточки10% , будет ли толк? Не грохну ли я поршневую, как наша ЗСУ навалу орков? Слава Україні!Смерть ворогам!

Привіт. Данная пила, более менее нормально, если пилить сосну диаметром до 20см. Что касается линейных подшипников, то скорее всего, их будет забивать пылью и опилками.

cheap solution. =if not portabl;e it could be made very cheaply with welded bed rails and scrap steel for unde $200 as long as you have tome to pick the junk in your town. There are so many people tossing materials. Even quality support rails can be made of rebarred concrete smoooooth like glass. Always a matter of liocation and resourecs of space, need, & $$$. Half the time it is a shed to keep eveerything dry. An air tent is cheap and fantastic.
