honestly, I wish we had guitars this good at this price range when I started playing. FFS, we had trash for about the same $. ppl starting these days are so damn lucky.

Yes indeed. When I was a teen decades ago, the only affordable guitars for a poor kid were horrible planks made by Satellite and Kay guitars available from your mum's Kay catalogue.They weren't even that cheap compared to budget guitars now which are light years better in quality.

Had this for a year now, unplayable out of the box...got it set up by a pro and changed the tuners (factory are rubbish), going to upgrade pickups to tonemaster alinco 2 classics next. Plays like a dream now. Well worth the 99€ I paid

Read so many good things about these guitars, I've just ordered one as a backup/alternate tuning guitar, although having read and watched the reviews I might end up using it a lot more. I agree with 23 Skidoo below, in my youth (I'm 61) budget guitars were...awful. I had a Woolworths Audition semi acoustic, all I could afford... 🥴

I am a beginner in the guitar playing, I am almost for pull the trigger in this model. I have a question, what's mean when you play "Distortion + Reverb"? You are using a pedal? Sorry for the ignorance, I am learning seeing youtube videos 😅 Super nice video review, short and clear. Thank you!

Great video~! How do you compare this with the TE-62DB CAR?

Thanks! I think that the TE-62 is better. It's a classic Tele and it sounds almost like a Fender, the twang is great in that one. Also the CAR finish is awesome. But the TE-20HH is still a great option, especially for those who prefer humbuckers rather than single-coils :)

Got one of these delivered from Thomann today, all I can say you were exceptionally lucky with yours in a playable condition out of the box, mine was terrible, action was tremendously high and the individual string heights were nothing like following the fretboard contour, took me almost an hour to get all the string heights correct (bought the proper luthier gauge) and then correct the intonation on 3 of the strings. Worst of all the pickups didn't appear to be installed properly, both had a pronounced tilt downwards from bridge to neck. The only way to get them parallel to the strings was to lower them right down into the body which is not ideal, will need to strip the tuners out to see what's going on, so much for quality control. Also every photo of the guitar I saw showed it had through body stringing, mine doesn't, another disappointment. This is my second Harley Benton guitar the first was faultless, 👎👎 for this one. Sent Thomann an email about my dissatisfaction no response yet.

Mine does not have through body strings either, but it's not a big deal. For $100, I wasn't expecting this to be set up out of the box, or even close. I watched a few videos on how to set up a guitar did a basic set up myself and it's more than playable. My guitar tech said I did a good enough job. If I need to play clean tones, I play my LP or Strat. Playing this dirty is more than cool. Modeling amp allows you to get any tone you want.

Well, how else do you think you're going to learn? You sure aren't ever going to learn unless you get your first inexpensive guitar and start learning like very slowly and gradually, just like everyone else did. : ) You buy a decent guitar for an affordable price. You spend 15 minutes a day...every single day...and you learn on KZfaq. It has never been cheaper or easier to learn to play guitar in modern history. Take advantage of that while KZfaq is still free. TIP: If you live in an apartment, or have roommates, just get yourself a pair of inexpensive Sony headphones to plug into your electric guitar so that way your friend/family/neighbors don't have to suffer through you sounding like crap until you become decent. Trust me, we all go through that stage for the first year. Keep at it, especially in those moments when you think you'll never get any better.

I've seen reviews where the strings do go through the body, and see the string ends on the back side of the guitar, like a real Tele. Mine however, do not go through, they catch on the back side of the tailpiece just underneath the intonation screws that move the saddles.
