Dear Teacher Lucy: I really admire your British English lessons. I am slowing pronouncing the British English accent. Would you please enlighten me on the British English intonation so I can not only pronounce the British English accent but also that my speech will sound like native British. Thank you immensely for your teaching! I look forward to viewing your new lesson on British English Intonation in the very near future! Joyful regards, Beige
@norbertvelky8796
@norbertvelky8796 Жыл бұрын
that´s what you´ll get to learn only by time , it is to invest a bunch of years in this process in order to expend native sounds without a tought. I spent 8 years in native British english environment and stilll have some gaps in terms of speaking , although the minor ones only natives would notice. In generaly though, it would require a schooling from 3 to 5 years in my opinion, if one is really dedicated.

As an English learner who knows about 1,5k words, I can confirm that this amout of words is half of the necessary words to talk to people, send messages, understand many people's comments. And it's almost enough to watch this kind of educating videos. It's still not so much. But I learn it step by step not to push myself under stress. I don't try to make a plan like I need to learn 100words by next week. Such stuff can easily kill your learning any language

Lucy, I'm in a bit of a trouble. I got the same mcq wrong twice on my exam! Let me know which one is the correct sentence I ___ my mobile phone since 2009. a) have had b) have c) had d) am having I chose "have had" both times, it seems the most plausible and my friend agreed. But my teacher said it is "had" Let me know which is the correct one!

No you’re right. When saying ‘I had my mobile phone since 2009’ the first part implies that you don’t have it anymore, which doesn’t fit with the rest of the sentence! ‘I have had my mobile phone since 2009’ is much more fluent, and ‘have had’ is used in a way that relates the past to the present which fits the rest of the sentence.

Just to give you a second opinion yeah it's 'have had'. Most people would shorten it to 'I've had' when speaking.

Hi Lucy, this is such great content! I love this! Btw, if you don't mind, can you make content about the usage of "who, whom, and whose"? I'm still confused by those words. Thank you in advance, Lucy this is the correct one

I recently watched your video on the differences between your accent, a Canadian accent, and an American accent. Great video. I would love to see a video on how to tell the difference between your accent, a South African accent, an Australian accent, and a New Zealand accent.
