People hate on him because of his lazy demeanour and his terrible body language. This is just old joke. Then why would RM let go of him. Ronaldo can score without him but he can't assist without ronaldo considering auba and laca are top strikers in premier league. Emery hasn’t been great so far but he clearly wants us to press high and be as aggressive as possible which Ozil really isn’t able to. Increasingly in the modern game you can’t just sit around and wait for the ball, you have to be robust, tenacious and if ur an attacking midfielder, a fluid link between Attack and defence. Look at debruyne and Eriksen, they create on the same level as Ozil but they do do many other things for the team and are getting paid much less for it. Huge mistake to give him that contract

If they do it and Ozil doesn't it tells you a lot about Mesut. Don't forget, he was moved on from Real Madrid for a reason. I personally want Ozil to do well, however it's clear to see that he doesn't really care. He's almost 30 and he's getting £350k/week to be lazy - life is good for him.

DavvitSol It’s unfortunate, but Özil just isn’t an Emery type of player. Emery doesn’t utilise hole players as much, he’s more in favour of 3 centre mids with box to box capabilities. Özil just doesn’t fit Emery’s profile in a 433. And not to mention Özil abysmal defensive workrate. Sadly he’s gotta move on as there’s no room for him in the current team and the way they now play
