What if civilizations formed in Minecraft? In this video, we investigate this question by simulating human civilization in Minecraft with REAL players!

#Civilization #Minecraft #Simulation #History #Anthropology #Sociology
To figure out which biome is the most advanced civilization, we put 100 players into different 100 by 100 chunks with limited resources. Each chunk features a different biome to test how a society would develop using a variety of resources. Will their people cooperate or will the region plunge into anarchy? If they survive stage 1, trade routes will open up and we will get to see unique interactions between each country!
This is Recreating Civilization in Minecraft, not the History of Humans! Everything from the primitive beginnings of society is rebuilt to established nations fighting to the death will be covered. This will truly test the theories of what if everyone was trapped in minecraft by rebuilding all of civilization.
A lot of planning went into this video! Shoutout to my admin Flare for helping a TON with the planning. The style of this video is similar to Primer, Wilbur Soot in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like @PrimerBlobs and @WilburPlays.

@@pomponion6977 not really, there are a lot of real conclusions that you can draw from this. Sure its a video game, but still there are a lot of very real psychological factors at play here and its those same factors that show up in real life. There are a lot of examples here of things that can or even have happened in real civilizations such as power vacuums, confusion over the ruling class and the different social structures. Believe me I know it sounds rediculous, I mean really this is Minecraft, but fr there are a number of real life concepts going on in this. And on lookers who look in to this to try and draw these connections and learn from them benefit from little fun things like this.

Jungle, the most advanced civilization at the time, ended up being the first to fall. Island civilization reenacted Lord of the Flies and fell from constant treachery. Plains, which had the greatest advantage in terms of resources, fell to their hubris and pride. Mesa, in a very American way, tried to Manifest Destiny as fast as possible and stretched themselves thin. Siberia, the underdog of the nations, became the strongest through the power of pure nationalism. Amazing.

in multiple diffeent iterations of this experiment ive seen the jungle organise the fastest. I think this happens because, like the plains, jungle has abundant resources (fishing, wood, etc), but also has setbacks that make it impossible to progress withour order: if jungle has order, they not only survive, but thrive, but if they don't, they die very quickly

Fun fact: about 9 years ago, a server that had a similar concept called “The Kingdom” started. Every country has their own KZfaqr with a full storyline and stuff like that. At some point they even began having RAP BATTLES with each other. It was by far the most populair concept in the Dutch Minecraft community, and I miss it so much. For many people it was their childhood. To this day there are still copies of this server called “Fake Kingdom servers” where you can start your own country, but unfortunately the community has become quite toxic. If any of you want to know more, just ask!

@@silverdays2909 I would love to! There were a bunch of different Kingdoms with different themes. Of course, there were antagonists with their own story. But the big bad for most of the story was the dark kingdom of The Empire, ruled by RAGTHANATOS. They were among the most populair characters of the series and their iconic phrase “IRPAS INTRAPA” is famous in what is left of the community. As for a story… hmm, yes, I suppose I can start with one of the oldest in the Kingdom lore: RAGTHANATOS his story. In the plains of Bovisti, the continent above Midisti, there once lived a peace-loving people. A young boy called Thanatos once gained a diamond sword for his 16th birthday and he loved this sword. But all the happiness faded when they heard the message: the dragons of Ljord had invaded Bovisti and were hungry for land. The eldest man in the village proposed to use the ancient forbidden dark magic. With no other option, they builded a portal of obsidian to the underworld. But when the Ljords arrived, they were furious that the village had escaped their wrath. And so, they unleashed the mightiest dragon of all and blew up the portal. The village and Thanatos could not return to the normal world and were trapped in the dark world of Celcrius. Slowly, their water and food began to run out. Not even tears could exist in this hot, fiery hell. First, their children died. Then the woman. “You have to survive! Thanatos, I beg you!” One for one, they died. For untold decades they suffered the worst fate possible. Thanatos saw his own 4 year old nephew burning in the fire. Why was no one there to help them? Why was no one there to rescue them?! They hated everything and everyone that was not themself. “You have to survive! You need to survive!” The males kept searching for a way out. And after decades there was one. Light, at the end of the tunnel. A new portal. But the people felt betrayed and were bitter. Why had no one helped them sooner? Why gave the Ljords them this fate worse than death? Seething with anger against anything that was not them, they crawled through the portal. One for one. Their way out, but without their wives. Without their children. Why they wanted to live or live a life, they didn’t know anymore. Black from the outside, and black from the inside. The underworld had changed them in all those decades. This is the heartbreaking story of RAGTHANATOS, King of The Empire. - The Kingdom #106 Zwarte Wraak And that is only one of the many, many many story’s that this server has to offer.

There was no need for politics or surviving hard since there was nothing else to do with your time. Huddling around a tiny fishing hole basically gave them a shared communal identity and brought them together.

@@slevinchannel7589 anything more than 100 players would probably be laggy as hell and would require lots of planning and scripting to make every player play like there was actual risk involved. something like that would probably have to be staged by a huge server like hypixel, and why would they do that? there would also probably have to be some sort of reward that's worth it to players so they're motivated, which will cost a lot of money if it's large scale. so with virtually no benefit to the party that hosts such an event, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

ClownPierce, despite being a renowned pvper, shows that being skilled at pvp doesn't mean you can be a very effective leader. Clownpierce is even MORE of a tyrant than Solev! Shown how he uses military threats and power to take control by force. Hell, that was the main reason he was given the title of General in the newer video. And when he got the title of Leader here, he played it way too aggressively, rushed head on into a horde of players instead of staying on the high ground and forced his alliance to go and assist him, he got his entire alliance killed because of his recklessness. Alongside this, in the newer video he tried to get Alcembrew to become his "budget slavery" state instead of an alliance, essentially making the swamp kingdom their subordinates in exchange for protection. This was because he was overconfident in his military strength and wanted to remain isolationists. This angered the Alcembrew people and as result no alliance was formed. This shows that ClownPierce is not fit to be a leader or a negotiator, only a powerful skilled soldier. Edit: After seeing comments about Clownpierce, I'm not too sure everything I said was true. But clown needs to be more humble to be an effective leader.

At 20:01, you can see the Siberian king quickly saving one of his men from Clown's ambush, and then the rest of the team immediately realizing what happened and jumping to his support. Pretty excellent coordination, on the other hand, you can clearly hear Clown's team in vc still yelling at everyone to get down, if they all attacked at once they probably would've won the battle due to the element of surprise. Just goes to show how well collaboration and teamwork can really affect how everything plays out.

You should add a way for people to reproduce (so civilizations don't die out so quickly and it's more realistic). He's an idea from Ecuvaet 714: "each nation has a separate chest where they can put food in but cannot take out (or shouldn't at least), and once a certain number of food is in that chest, an admin takes it away and allows a new person to join the nation it would be a sort of reproduction system so colonies don't die out that easily. The price could increase depending on how well of a nation is" Please add this idea or something similar to your next video!

Id really like to see how this would play out with more 'realism' added. Like natural disasters, maybe tougher mobs, or a technological progression mod

@@Sn1ffko i think population booms can be like 100 people can join the server (or re join idk) 50 will chose what region they want to be in, at will (immigrants) 50 will get randomly "born" in one of the regions, with no choice
