Seriously, if we want to figure out if our current theory of how physics is correct, we just need to create an AI, make it learn how to do something mundane like make toast, and by the end of a week it's guaranteed to have discovered immortality, and probably made toast using molten metal as a heat source on 17 separate occasions, of which 5 of them don't even involve anything remotely like a toaster.
