Van Gogh sold hundreds of paintings, because he worked for an art gallery/dealer. He only sold one OF HIS OWN. A poorly phrased question.

Maybe it's the way I worded the question, but it meant his own paintings. I didn't think it needed to be made clearer, but maybe it did. 🙂

@@Quizzes4U Thanks for the prompt response. The 'single painting in his lifetime' is also a myth. It is known that he sold at least 21 paintings in his lifetime. The Van Gogh Museum highlights on their website that “Vincent’s first commission was from his uncle Cor. He was an art dealer and wanted to help his nephew on his way, so he ordered 19 cityscapes of The Hague.” In addition In the art historian Marc Edo Talbaut's 1969 book titled Vincent van Gogh he writes “On October 3, 1888, Theo (Vincent's brother) wrote to the London art dealers, Sulley & Lori. In this letter, he said: ‘We have the honor to inform you that we have sent you the two pictures you have bought and duly paid for: a landscape by Camille Corot … a self-portrait by V. van Gogh.’” So that is 20 in addition to The Red Barnyard which is the 'single sale' of the myth. I love your quizzes, despite the occasional myth creeping in. Keep it up!

Question 40 is wrong!! Van Gogh Sold a few hundred paintings in his lifetime. They were not his own but he worked selling paintings in a gallery run by his brother Thio! You can ask how many of his own painting he sold

UGG is an American footwear company and a division of Deckers Brands. Also, the northern lights are not caused by polution.

The question on UGG boots asks where are they from, not who owns the trademark outside of Australia now. The term originated in Australia and is a generic term in Australia for these type of boots. The word UGG may have derived from fug boots that were worn by aviators in rural Australia during World War I. The term is believed to be a shortened version of “flying ugg boots. There are many companies making these boots. There is confusion because the name is also used and trademarked outside Australia by the company you mentioned which was founded in California, but the term UGG boots is originally from Australia, so I would say the quiz answer is correct. With regards to the northern lights, I think you've missed the answer, as the video never said it was caused by pollution, as that was an incorrect answer. Thanks for commenting
