not only that, but the flapper dress was rarely worn outside of clubs and during the day. The day dress, the hem longs were a lot longer. Closer to the 30s/40s did the hem line rise. Evening dress is not the same as day dress and for some reason people like to confuse the two.

@@ZimVader-0017 corsets were pretty much completely out of style by the 20s but the 40s spelled their total doom. What was worn as undergarments in the 40s were stays and girdles. The steel in the boning for corsets was requisitioned for the war so what few corsets remained were exorbitantly expensive because of the metal shortages. That and the women's rights movement which had started in the early 1900s and 1910s had fully picked up speed and many women thought corsets to be oppressive and refused to wear them on principle even before the steel shortage made it impossible to get one.

some of this is WILDLY inaccurate & could be remedied with just the slightest amount of effort (also flappers were not the only women in the twenties so why are they the only ones we talk about??? the flapper fashion wasn’t exactly something you saw on the street everyday)

50's fashion was/is my favorite! It was classic, classy, neat, modest, elegant, and I miss that style. The white gloves, the hats, the crinolines, all of it. I had every color crinoline they made at that time! I even had the petticoat to wear under them so they wouldn't scratch up my legs so much. The petticoats were lovely and fancy too. What a time, I loved it!
@MirandaMilner

First of all, you have to decide if you’re gonna show day dresses, or formal dresses. Secondly, almost nothing in this video is accurate. Most glaring is the fact that YOU WOULDN’T SHOW YOUR KNEES IN THE 1920’s. Not to mention the fact that there should be no definition of the waist as far as the fit. And that just the first one! Goodness me, just hire a dress historian, or just do any research whatsoever on each decade.

Laura Mason 50's was one theme of our theme week before our last schoolday (you know, playing games, coloring the students and teachers, playing pranks and so on.) I wore a dress with a petticoat and even though the petticoat permanently slipped out of place (which made me look even chubbier than I already am) it was by far my favorite theme. @@HelenaMak THAT WAS THE FIRST BOOK ABOUT WW2 I READ! We needed to read it for a classwork and leveryone was asking me for a resume and I was like "ONLY 300 PAGES, LAZY". I cried an ocean with Jonathan's dead, I actually fell in love with him. Such great books!

My three favorites are the 40s, 50s and 60s looks, they are just so pretty! If i could, my wardrobe would be fulled of those types of dresses

I like everything in the video except, they always show the 1920s first not the 1910s. I wish they start counting in 1910s rather than 1920s
