100 Years Old Abandoned Lantern Restoration

In today's video I'm restoring a old rusty lantern,I did some research on it I wasn't able to find this exact one but it is similiar to ones that are supposedly 100 years old.I bought it from some junkyard and thought it would make a good restoration video.The whole restoration process took me 10 days to complete and it turned out pretty good.I really enjoyed making this video it's a bit longer than my usual videos but I hope you enjoy it as well.

If this was my project I would've kept the old wooden handle. The flame should be turned lower until it stops smoking. Nice restoration.

Might help to cut the loose strands on the end of the wick. And, yes, turn it down. It is a very nice restoration.

Они все это делают. Каждый раз этому поражаюсь. Сперва драют деталь , а потом на обработку в пескоструйку. Ладно если бы рекламировал вещества разные или даже туже пескоструйку, но ведь нет. Вердикт, ерунда.

Excellent job! Small tip, If your lamp is smoking the wick is turned too high! Wastes oil and smokes the glasses prematurely

Ручка это вообще как отдельный вид извращения🤦‍♂ почему сразу нельзя было разогнуть скобу, снять ручку и отшлифовать её если в итоге всё равно разогнул скобу чтобы поставить новую-кривую?!

NIce, but flame must NOT be smoking, turn the wick down and the flame will be much brighter too !

Больно смотреть на отломанные петли, откушенную завальцовку, побитые стекла, но финалом стала распиленая ручка. Это не реставрация, это история "как я издевался над 100-летним фонарем". А ведь какая приятная вещь! Жалко ее. Нельзя так.

The lantern looks great overall....but for all the work you did on the rest, why not take more time and make the handle the way it should be ? Make it symmetrical so it has a finished look to it.

The original galvanised coating had lasted 100 years and was still fine, and you go and sand blast it off. And you lost the original handle. Not a good restoration.

Nice work but you should have just submerged the whole thing into white vinegar, could have saved you a lot of time... Done it before with old rusty metal parts even with wooden greased parts and it will clean it up in a day or two of chemical treatment.

Could be restored way better. Didn’t paint properly and the wooden handle should be kept and restored. Too many ads also.

Анимированный покойник . Хороший экземпляр для музея . Хотя большинство экземпляров ... в основном все экземпляры - не настоящие , а искусственно состаренные . Археологи и "чёрные копатели" со мной согласятся .
