You have to double clutch, it's an unsyrnchronized gear box.

Great video, as the owner of a 2018 500 called Vienna these adorable cars must have a name. Sofia is as beautiful as the car

Robert Lewis thanks for watching Robert! They are great cars but make sure if you go and buy one in Italy you know how to get round the beauracracy!

car looks great I always loved those little 500s! The whole journey reminds me of my father and his mate driving 1000 km in a Simca Chrysler to attend an F1 gran prix! Travelling top speed (~65mph) almost all the way from Thessaloniki to Budapest

needraintodrift wow! Sounds like an amazing trip... What year was this?

Number27 Yeah it was a very interesting trip to say the least. I am not quite sure what year it was but I remember that Senna was the winner so it was either 1988,1991 or 1992.

Funny story, my father and his mate did not have any currencies besides Greek so they used to pay with alcohol (forbidden in Serbia and Fyrom) as a currency to fill up the car at the gas stations etc.

I might do something like this one day. I'm 17 and I like the more rarer and interesting cars. I've seen Matras for sale in France, a Bricklin SV-1 in Belgium and also many eastern block cars for sale which I'm interested in

Lovely car. I lust after the Zastava 750, which is a Yugoslavian built Fiat 500 with a bigger engine at 750cc. My background is Croatian, hence the want, but I have bugger all chance of finding one in Australia which is where I live. Oh well...

That twisted seat belt bothered my OCD. But I love your car man. Congratulations.

My next car maybe an old one like this. I'm disgusted with new cars today. Expensive, ugly, plain and boring. Older small cars have better miles per gallon, more fun, and you don't see many on the road today so you get a lot of thumbs up for having something unique. They're just not as safe as new cars though. Simple solution though, don't get in an accident lol.

Hi! I am looking to do the same as you. How did it work out with the change of ownership from your dad to you, when you reached the UK? How was it insured when you took the trip through Europe? And did you have to destroy the original numberplates when you got home? Thank you!!

Hi, Jack great videos, Stumbled across them by chance as I am about to embark on the same journey. One or two quick questions, would you do the journey any different? Fuel economy, these have small fuel tanks, what roughly were you getting out of a tank? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great videos.

Thanks John!! I can’t remember but I think the car does roughly 40mpg.. if driven slowly. Journey was perfect as it was!!

We import these and Lancia Fulvias from Italy. It makes more sense to use a company like uSHIP as the journey back at 50mph is very boring. We had one from Trieste arrive two days ago, the cost was only £650.00. If you need any advice I am happy to advise, regards,Mike
