1000 POINTS MIDDLE EARTH SBG BATTLE REPORT | IRON HILLS VS GOBLIN TOWN & THE THREE TROLLS

We cram a 1000 point game onto a 4x4 board - Louis & Aaron take charge of an IRON HILLS army that includes Dain Ironfoot, Murin & Drar and an Iron Hills Chariot. I use a combination of GOBLIN TOWN and THE THREE TROLLS so try and stop and them.
The scenario is Destroy the Supplies from the Matched Play Guide. The board is set, the pieces a moving...
(Also, sorry Aaron keeps getting the names of the trolls and Murin & Drar mixed up..!)

My advice would be that at the 25:30 mark, if you had charged the iron hills warrior with the king from a different angle, you could have hurled him into Dain. This would do a S3 hit on both bill and bert, but would knock Dain prone, meaning double strikes and instant dismount

Love the quality of editing and the banners etc keeping score. Makes it really easy to track what’s happening. Other bat rep videos are too hard to follow and not narrated

Excellent battle report as always. I loved seeing these two armies as they’re models I don’t see all that often to be honest. Makes me want to buy more Iron Hills dwarves and the Trolls now 😂

Great content! You are not allowed to dismount from the chariot unless it dies. So the dwarf should not have destroyed the first objective

The chariot killing 10 goblins early on made a big difference. Basically won that right flank for the dwarves. Good shooting helped thin the numbers. Usually I think shooting isn’t worth much but crossbows on goblin defence makes them powerful.

I agree and shooting the goblins out who broke through from the market to the middle objectives was such a big swing! Also, Gollum did nothing all game, he should have been Dain-hunting...

Most of the mats in the videos are from DeepCut Studios, this one is actually Aaron's and is from Battlefield in a Box. They're all really good, and definitely worth paying the extra for mousepad material if you get the option!

Great battle report! Taking Goblin Town to a tournament soon and appreciate the battle. Only criticism is the heroic combat with the Kind and Bill. Not sure you capitalized on that well. Charging the second dwarf off the barge was probably a good idea if you had hurled him. Of course that's all perspective and afterthought. Thanks for the great video

Yeah I definitely needed to be hurling more, even just to knock models over for goblins to kill them... It was a good fun army to use though, hope your tournament goes well!

A very well produced BR! Thank you very much. I have a question regarding barging with monsters: Do you think it is really worth it when you fight a single but elite modell to afterwards charge two modells of the same kind? I mean, its a dice game and if my monster-army-leader wins the fight I would be happy to wound and thats it. The risk of barging: 1. not being able to charge anymore and 2. to loose the next fight and being wounded... not for me xD If there is a high valuable target worth some points of might or if I can activate monstrous charge, I do it!

Loved the bat rep!! Why didn't you take the Goblin Scribe?? I feel like that's a must on goblin town and in this scenario it would've helped a lot!!!

100% pure Goblin Town would be more effective! We kind of just pick what we've been painting/might be interesting for the Battle Reports and then optimise for the tournaments. Although the good thing about the game is you can win things with most armies if played right (which they're often not by us! 😂)

I think, you might have been overusing barge and neglecting hurls in this game. You could have broken up the dwarven line with a hurl because then dwarves are on the ground, which could give you the possibility for kills. Also you could throw a dwarf into riders to dismount them.

Yeah I completely agree. Too short sighted thinking that the Hurl wouldn't actually kill any dwarves but the knock down to make them easier to kill and effectively protect the goblins would have been super helpful!

@@twotreesgaming also, you can throw into another combat and everyone below S6 is knocked to the ground. This does not include trolls. So you could hurl into Dains combat, knocking him down, preventing him from striking while putting him on the ground at the same time, making him way easier to kill if you win that combat

Yeah, this is a tactic I know but a lot of stars have to align with angles and then picking the order of combats. Aaron played ents for a while and I've only seen it done once or twice! Doesn't help that it was quite a dense board for manouvering!

Also knocked down models don't provide shieldwall so you actually stand a reasonable chance of killing
