I first saw this song many years ago ,in a video of Vitas on stage. Before that i didn't know a guy could sing that high, and I loved it. I love it by Dimash even more. I am disappointed that Vitas doesn't want Dimash to sing it, but I can understand it as it is his song.

Respectfully to other artist, Dimash sang this live, no autotunes, no playback and no audio enhancement. I wish to see Vitas could do this one day.

In respect to all artists we don’t like to compare them. Even Dimash does not like to do so. He confirms that an artist puts their heart and soul into their work and therefore would not disparage anyone. He is a spiritual and humble man. That being said this singer performance was so cheeky and fun. You get to see a little extra personality this time. He knows what he’s got and he’s putting it out there in a different way than usual. How about checking out Adagio next, also from the Singer competition.

The song itself is really fun. I also like the lyrics as it's about being alone in a house with the wind howling at your windows. I've never seen the Vitas video before. I would have directed it differently to more reflect the song lyrics. That being said, Vitas deserves a huge credit for writing the song. It's very clever and fun. I've never seen Vitas sing this live. I've seen several videos presented as being live which were most clearly lip synced. So I don't know if he can hit these notes on a stage live or if he needs the studio help to get there. Still, it's a well crafted fun song. Because, Dimash can sing this live and has done so in I think 3 or 4 videos. You can see that he easily hits these high notes. So much so that the took the song to new heights. Vitas first hit the high note C6 (C note in the 6th octave) and then at the end took it up a half step to C#6. That's impressive even for studio work. But Dimash live modulated 2 additional steps beyond what Vitas did. Dimash hit the C6, then the C#6, and then the D6 and finally the D#6. Why this modulation is so hard to do is he never goes out of intonation and every half step higher is quite a bit harder. And Dimash does it with ease and with well controlled vibrato and a crystal clear tone. Frankly, Dimash easily goes higher in other videos as he really likes hitting the E6 as a final note on song and he can go higher than that. And he does it live so.... I mean how can you not be impressed by that ability? It's really astounding and if you don't try to sing it yourself then I think sometimes people can think it's easy. Dimash makes it look easy. That D#6 is hard for women to hit. In fact if you had watched a longer video of this performance you would have seen one of the other contestants, a woman, show how hard it was and that she couldn't hit it. I'm going to say one last thing. This performance of Dimash's made such a big splash that Vitas heard about it. He filed a law suit against Dimash practically the next day or before the week was out at least. Vitas was this big Artist and Dimash was a 22 year old Kid who was a virtual unknown performing for a contest show. Vitas basically wanted to make sure that this phenom Dimash (who not only sung the song well, but sung the song two modulations higher) not unseat him with his own song. Vitas clearly was threatened by this performance and he feared losing his perceived prowess over his own song. Frankly he indeed was a bit in danger of that as Dimash flat out smashed the song. But, I'm not going to lie. I think suing Dimash, a 22 year old kid was unnecessary. It was not a good image optically either for his reputation. As result, Dimash doesn't sing Opera 2 anymore. But that's ok. He's moved on to more challenging and impressive songs so it's not a big deal. But, since Dimash has become more famous with now approximately 10 million countable fans around the world, other young artists are trying to sing his songs now in competition. He freely lets them as he understands the parameters and limitations put on young artists in competitions. Dimash having had this experience with Vitas and also Lionel Richie understands how while you have the right to forbid someone from singing your song, but you should make exceptions for those who are young trying to prove their voice in competition or performing without compensation. This song can be bitter sweet when juxtaposed with Vitas because of the history. But I commend Vitas for writing a cool song and Dimash will always be the one who smashed it out of the park.

The fact that Dimash's performance is live, not in a studio for a music video, makes it even more impressive. mho

I had never heard of Vitas before seeing Dimash's performance. Vitas could have capitalized on the attention Dimash brought to him, but all I've seen is news about Vitas banning him from performing the song again and comment sections full of Vitas fans attacking Dimash and his fans. I will never be a Vitas fan because of that.

In general, Dears don’t like comparisons because Dimash doesn’t compare with others. He would always give his competitor the credits. So I will not say a word about others than Dimash. His performance is incredible, he took that well known song to another level. As he does it with every of the covers. But I love his originals and the folklore songs more, because his beautiful soul shines through when he performs them.❤️ I‘m new to you and subscribed to see what you bring to the table next 😁.
