1000 SUBSCRIBER SPECIAL - How much did YouTube pay me on day 1?

I cant believe that over 1000 people have subscribed to the channel! Thanks to each and every one of you. Here is a bit of a recap of my KZfaq journey so far along with a couple of mentions to people who have helped me along the way. I'm also after new ideas for future videos and i'll share with you just how much (or little) money a newly monetized KZfaqr can expect to make (i'm not giving up my day job any time soon!)

To be honest Paul I'm not surprised you hit 1000, your channel is excellent. I'm sure you're going to see more growth over time. Talking of growth, I think the only fans idea is a good one. A niche market, one man and his plane, A meaningful affair between flesh, metal and fabric. I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who'd watch. You'd only need 30 second videos out a time.

Hi Paul, I’ve watched all your videos and Giles’s channel too and it’s rekindled my desire to get back into flying. Started the process of revalidating my lapsed NPPL last year, but weather getting in the way. I think a lot of channels, particularly the road cycling ones I follow keep me coming back by covering firstly, kit reviews, I would love to know more about helmets, sky demon, navigation apps etc. Secondly challenges and adventures. Nothing better than getting inspiration following someone doing something exciting that you aspire to do yourself one day. Good luck with your continuing upward trajectory.

Paul you are great in front of the camera (far better than me) and congrats on the 1.03k subs you have whilst I am writing this, totally deserved. I would personally only be interested in flying videos rather than the bike stuff, I'd also like you do a few challenges (safely) like climbing to altitude (how does the flex perform going up hill) or maybe 'how short can you land' (you knew I'd ask for that one. Just keep up the always interesting and well edited videos.

Love the channel. Being new to Flexwing (doing my NPPL with Giles) things I’d really like to see are why you chose the kit you chose. Why the BivyBee and the wing choice. Why the helmet and other kit. How do you decide where you’re going to go to and some of the prep needed if you’re landing away. Storage of the Flexwing and insurance is also another thing that’s a bit of a mystery. Motorbikes are always a good subject to cover off as well. Keep up the good work. Love it.

Congratulations Paul. I do remember those first ones, must be OK because I did click 'Subscribe'. Loved the 'going away' trips - camping or other. How about landing at non-airfields showing what the Sub-70's can do. No Motorbike ones please :-) £5.96 - that's approx 3 3/4 Litres of fuel - not bad :-)

Thanks for the ideas. More trips and camping planned. Some other people have asked for motorbike content so I might mix this with flying content but make it skippable so people who aren’t interested can skip past it. 👍

Hi Paul, congratulations on reaching this milestone - onwards and upwards! I'm interested in all things general aviation (close to gaining my LAPL 🤞🏻) but never had much of an interest in flexwing.. until watching some videos on your channel! Glad to see your success - your content is interesting and you seem like a generally down to earth good normal bloke, which makes the viewing all the better. In terms of ideas for the future, perhaps some information on how someone might get into flexwing flying? Admittedly I've not spent too much time Google-ing it yet, but I haven't found anything that simply explains: license types, how many hours required, what SSDR and sub-70 etc is.

Congratulations Paul, just an idea that for me ( a person taking lessons in a gt 450 flying out of deenesthorpe) could you do a video on video editing , What editing suite you use , also how about doing visits to other airfields to meet and even fly with some of your subscribers . Hi Paul. Love the channel. I’m a microlighter and a biker so I’d love to see some biking stuff too. I road race classic bikes and I fly my Blade 912. I’m racing in the Pre TT in May in the Isle of Man and then after I get home I’m flying back in the Blade with the misses for the TT. I do videos on Facebook of my racing and bike repairs but I’ve yet to do any flying ones. I’ve been picking Giles’s brains about camera set up for the Blade. Sorry for the long winded comment. Keep the videos coming.

Hi Paul. Sounds like we have similar interests although my preferred pace on a motorbike is a lot slower than yours. It’s amazing how many flex pilots are also motorbike riders. I am planning on doing a video to look at why that is. Keep flying/riding. 👍

Congrats, that man. Here's to middle aged overweight bald blokes eh?... 😉 You are getting some great polish on your content these days and it makes viewing a pleasure. In terms of content I'd love to see more flamping stuff, mixed in with practical maintenance bits. I appreciate that dedicated maintenance videos probably won't grow views as quickly as other stuff, so how about blending in specific bits of it (or jobs) during flying videos? The two content types might make for a more 'magazine' style format and keep the variety and interest going? I might be talking boll**** of course but just trying to get your suggestion box filling up. Keep up the cracking work and I hope to see you soon. 👍😁

I have a list of things I want to do and beach landing is on the list. There is a beach in Lancashire that is quite a common destination. Watch this space. 👍
