You really need the RPM A-arms. The rear ones give you 3 degrees of toe in which helps with grip, and the front arms are a little bit wider than stock. Also, they are made out of much stronger material.

With all those updates and you didn't add sway bars? The cornering and rolling issues are greatly reduced by sway bars. Is there a reason for not using them that I'm not aware of? The real test for me is on the track. Not how hard or easy it is to run, but which car crosses the finish line first.

Mmmmm i disagree. I live in Oklahoma and and only one of my local tracks have alot for traxxas stuff and they only sell what horizion hobby sells so its traxxas and tlr armma mostly. A little of associated stuff. Now the other 2 are mostly custom works tlr and associated. What people actually race so traxxas are slim there. The reason traxxas is so easy to find parts is because they have had the same models for the last 11 plus years and mostly they all interchange with each other. You can find any parts for my 4x4 rustler local. I have to order all offline

It’s amazing watching people who are really good drivers and tuners smoke people with their Traxxas and lower level vehicles. In the 80s people trashed the Tamiya Hilux at the track till they started losing with their JRXTs and RC10Ts. It’s not till your at the higher levels of racing that spending the money on pure race vehicles makes any sort of sense. This type of thing has been going on in rc for years. Take these sort of videos with a grain of salt

Dig the video man, I have close to $900 in my Sc6.1 at this point. Just destroyed a idler gear, which seems to be a weak point from what I have heard. The anti roll bars helped quite a bit with rear traction.

Most of my rc stuff is traxxas, I just like to go out and bash around, I really don't have a huge interest in racing. If I had a track locally and really wanted to compete, like any sane person I would get an actual racing truck. lol I understand building this for your channel to show but beyond that, putting that kind of money into upgrading a traxxas with the intent of racing is crazy! 😂 I suppose if it was local club racing and just randomly upgrading that wouldn't be bad, that's probably what I'd do really but it doesn't make any sense to upgrade them for anything more than to increase the already high level of durability! lol The 2wd slash lcg chassis is good though, makes a pretty decent difference. My problem here is that you're comparing these two trucks that really have no comparisons. Even after all the upgrades the ae is still going to smoke the slash at a real race. Traxxas's goal hasn't been to win races in 20 or more years, it's to get people into rc and having fun with their friends, and they do that very well! Walk into any hobby shop and you'll find pretty much any traxxas part you need! Traxxas is doing exactly what they want, selling fun! At least you're not trying to say traxxas is garbage, that's my problem with a lot of people, if they were as terrible as some people say they wouldn't be where they are. Yea, they say ready to race, but really that's what's going on in our back yards. 🙄😂

I'm fairly new to sct, but am of the opinion that mid-motor mount is superior for handling and overall performance. Am I onto something, or is it one of those "it just depends"?
@Bingo_Bango_69
@Bingo_Bango_69 Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't just depend, he was being nice saying the slash gets more rear grip. He forgot to mention how much easier the truck spins out due to excess weight on the rear making it unstable coming into corners and how all that rear grip also promotes understeer mid-way through corners... The mid motor is a definite must have.

Simple review, Traxxas is great for "racing" with friends and having fun! Traxxas has never been about actual competition level racing, they've always been about just bashing and maybe racing with your friends. Every Hobby shop sells Traxxas and sells Traxxas parts, which is great, plus stock parts are cheap as hell and durable. AE on the other hand has always been about racing on a serious level. When AE came out with the RC10T they destroyed the competition because they showed every other company what real RC racing buggy was supposed to be! I mean you could also dump 1k into that SC6.1 and you'd still have the same car, just more personalized and maybe more durable but ultimately it'll be just better lol. With Traxxas I just change a few things here and there and basically leave it stock and just enjoy what I have. No sense in really changing something that just works for its intended purpose.

@@johntuffy5721 But I'll tell ya even though Traxxas has some older platforms, they're all super easy to work on. All of their 2WD platforms are very simple and easy to maintain and repair. Same goes for their newer 4WD platforms. The T and E-Maxx though aren't good designs in my opinion, but they did help to revolutionize the hobby and bring allot of people into it.
