1000KM ON A LONGBOARD (full length documentary)

I have finally managed to finish the long version of my longboard trip.
I wanted to give people and everyone who is planning on doing anything similar, an idea of what it is like to go on such a mission.
As I mentioned, the footage is kind of shaky and I have been swearing a lot, so you have to excuse me for that one. I really couldn’t be bothered to bleep all of that out. Plus I think it’s kind of funny.
For those watching the whole video, please let me know what you didn’t like or what was nice to see, because that will help me with the long version of the electric longboard trip.

Everything about this is incredible! The sheer distance covered, pushing into head winds, pushing up hills, bumpy surfaces, 20kg backpack, operating a drone whilst skating, having to sleep in a tent every night for 20 days. Amazing!

What great journey and honestly documented ;) The drone made such a difference to the footage and just as simply to be able to have that overview of where you were at the end of a day is great. I'm now 54 and been skating around since '76, mostly just cruising and downhill, before I was even aware that there were names and events for these things ;) Recently saw a short documentary on the youtube called PUSH where guys and girls race non-stop, pushing for 24hrs covering in excess of 500km!!!!!!! Truly unbelievable what the human body and mind can achieve. Not sure that's for me, but I do still enjoy going out for a few hours or so of pushing for 15-20miles, but then I'm knackered and sweating like..... well :D) I too discovered the joys of the electric boards about three or four years ago, the endless carving and the joy of the brakes!! Wow. I'm new on a longboard. I'm practicing carving down hills right now and trying some sliding, I'm just pretty much practicing a small hill to learn on. I do this by going up a hill on my board, like it's a personal requirement that I have to go up the hill, then I turn around and go down it. I repeat this for like an hour or so before I just go cruise on flats. And let me tell you, going up a hill, even a small one for a beginner, gets tiring as hell for me. I can't even begin to imagine how you just keep going and going and going and going. It blows my mind.

Thank you so much dude. After a few days, your body gets used to it and it becomes the new normal. But yes, hills are super tiring! And the super steep hills i just walked up, because there was no way to push. Kind of nice because walking was a nice break from all the pushing and once you're up it can only go down again :)

Well done bro! Long distance riding is something else. Granted it's not 1000km but I ride my mountain board home from our local lakes a few km away, however the terrain isn't forgiving, dirt tracks and forests. The pushing is hard and there's a couple of hills you're just NOT riding up, way too steep. The journey itself IS the reward. Get out, go ride.

Man. This is CRAZY! This is something you tell your grandchildren. And now you can prove it with a movie! I recently started to learn to skateboard on a cruiser(29M). And the foot/leg cramps after a couple of minutes are killing me xD I can't imagine how you did it! But it's possible. Thank you for showing da wey. You are a big inspiration

I can relate on the lost necklace part.. Lost my favourite necklace while abroad in Korea (The pendant fell off). It was a lovely fishbone bird necklace. That is so nice to hear, thanks dude! I used running shoes. Definitely recommend but I think any shoe will do. Whatever is most comfortable to you. I noticed though, that my right sole was worn off a lot after the trip. So much, that i could go running with them afterwards because the height difference was so big..

Thanks Sanyon! Awesome that you enjoyed, even though it's a bit long. The board is from the company rollsrolls (rollsrolls.de/). The owner told me it's called the bullcatcher and I could have a pre market version. Unfortunately it is still not on his page. Send him a mail, he'll help you out for sure!

Hi, congrats, what an incredible achievement. Your journey has inspired me. One question, the 100 km trip was between which 2 cities? And do you think it's possible to do the same trip on a cruiser board?

Hey man! Thanks a lot 😃 I have listed all the places I slept in the video description. Open the map and you'll see it :) I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make with a cruiser board but I guess it would be a lot harder! Possible? Definitely, but with a backpack on your back it's a lot harder for your legs I would imagine.

Chad Caruso recently completed 3000 miles from west coast to east coast on a short board. He managed 50 miles per day. He slept in motels, though. He replaced his wheels and shoes once and made one video per day.

Hey vielen Dank! Hätte ich vorher auf jedenfall auch nicht erwartet 😁 Den Frühling vor der Tour bin ich so ein bis zwei mal die Woche mit dem Longboard zur Arbeit gedüst. Das waren so ca. 7km aber hatte das mit dem Gepäck vorher nie ausprobiert 😄

@@ARTVENTUREFILMS Ok dann hattest du ja schon ordentlich kondition aufgebaut =D das das Board dein Gewicht ausgehalten hat ?! Du wogst bestimmt um die 90 Kg mit dem Gepäck oder ?

@@diablo12359 Ja Kondition schon aber nicht mit Gepäck und über den ganzen Tag hinweg. Das Board hat mein Gewicht plus Gepäck super ausgehalten aber ich bin ja auch nicht schwer :)

What was you backpack base weight? I’ve been doing ultralight backpacking. Wondering what is the ideal weight to bring kick pushing backpacking.

The lighter the better ;) I would know how much i had as a base weight. And the overall weight always changed with water and food.

I used a solar panel by Anker but i think all those folding solar panels are kind of the same. So the brand doesn't really matter.

I don't know how to slide and it's even harder with a backpack on, I'd say. Sadly, if the downhill part was too crazy, I had to walk. Didn't happen often though.
