Lately, I usually metal detect at 3-5 feet depth. In december 2011 I was lucky to have the opportunity to go a little deeper... To 1006 feet with the manned submersible Curasub in Curacao. What a great once in a lifetime experience! Two dives, the 1007 feet dive lasted almost 3 hrs. Later, scuba dived with the sub in shallow waters, to get some outside video.
