Andree'sExpedition In your opinion and based on your trips how does the Saragosa hold up on the offshore jigging compared to the Stellas

Hi Ryoshi, the Saragosa is doing well. But after two seasons they start getting problems. But if you take care of them every time you have fished them, they last much longer. An alternative in the lower price range is the Penn Spinfisher V 7500. We fish these in Madagascar since a couple of seasons and if you maintain them, you will have a good reel for some time.

Hi, may I ask what you recommend on what type of kevlar to use for hunting dogtooth? I have had too many bust offs and lost numerous jigs because of this fish cutting my leader or the the kevlar on my assist hook. Information will be much appreciated. I enjoyed your video by the way. Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Perry, we use Varivas leaders and HART catfish kevlar for the assist hooks. Unfortunately we also get reefed or cut off... think it is part of the game to catch doggies. The kevlar leader we use is 670lbs and the leader 170-200lbs. Best chances to land a big one is to use 100lbs rods, reels etc and force its head up after the hook up to avoid beeing reefed... Cheers!
