Sega released AFTER BURNER II in 1988 in this upright version with a moving flight stick. Todd Tuckey shows you the insides of the electronics and controls and some game play too! We conclude with Sega's STAR TREK Video Game we are selling working but as-is in a special deal! Hope you enjoy this edition! Afterburner had the best soundtrack ever for any arcade game. If I can remember, it was one of the first (if not the first) game to use two Motorola 68000 processors, hence the huge cost. They really didn't have an accurate console version till almost ten years later. The Star Trek Cockpit version was so much fun for the day, and it came out right when Khannnnnnnn! came out too! Vector graphics had such a simplistic, yet awesome charm for its time. My screenwriting professor actually wrote Chris Farley's would-be last movie. The movie had finally been greenlit, and my Professor and his co-writer were eating in a diner in Los Angeles and when they came out, he said it was like a scene out of a movie. He turned on the radio and the announcer immediately said that Chris Farley had died. Ultimately, that movie never got made.

+retroelectrical I am curious to think of what game was the first with two of those 68000. Food Fight was the first to have one of them! Very sad about Farley too...he seemed out of control....the documentary is really very good!

Love After Burner. I have several ports of it on the Genesis, Master System (which is mostly based on AB1 without the throttle controls), the unofficial Tengen port for the NES, and the 3DS version which not only emulates the X hardware, but it also features faux overlays which make it feel like the real arcade version (and the overlays include the original upright, cabaret, the left and right Commander sit-down, and the Deluxe Commander sit-down), in fact, the people who developed the port (M2) even went as far as to record every detailed sound including the Deluxe Commander's cooling fans

I used to play Star Trek to such a high level - Spock's voice would start to crackle. I'd turn around and 20 people would be watching. lol Could play that game for hours. Of course my first Star Trek game was on a mainframe. My second was one I wrote- I gave option of time travel, and I had to add 5 dimensional arrays for that - The problem was- if a user paused (exited game) at coords X, Y, Z, T1, T2 ? And some OTHER user playing ? would visit those coordinates ? I could never solve for the anomaly of two people in one place - so I didn't finish it. I think the linear temporal model was the problem all along, makes for great movies though?

TNT Amusements Inc Thanks, but I played Star Trek a thousand times and know the sounds like my own breath. Maybe it's just distorted. When the starbases come up before the level, it is missing some low notes, and the crashes sound more crunchy for instance. You can view your other video for the sounds Im used to - that one sounds perfect. Sure it doesn't matter now, I'm sure you have sold the cabinet by now, was just curious why the sound was different. Maybe just a blown speaker driver or something. Great video BTW.
