Tim Burton has said the original poem was inspired after seeing Halloween merchandise display in a store being taken down and replaced by a Christmas display. The juxtaposition of ghouls and goblins with Santa and his reindeer sparked his imagination. The movie is almost perfect. I don't like the boogie song or the part when it's Jack vs boogie. It felt very rushed but the rest of it is just so perfect. Has a great message and the best claymation we will ever see. Especially now that we may never see it again.
