Tom and Jerry is the greatest cartoon ever created. Anyone that denies that is lying to themselves. It's the greatest, not because of it's gripping story, or amazing character development. But simply because of how timeless it is and how many people it appeals to regardless of their age. Hell, my mom barely watches TV, but even she loves watching Tom and Jerry with me. The show is Timeless and shall go down in history as such.

Tom and Jerry was my childhood and continues to be one of my favorite shows, however, I didn't know just how much influence these two had on in the animation world, They seem to put Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny to shame with there sheer influence alone. I hope this duo never dissapears.

My 5th grade band teacher worked on the sound effects of Tom And Jerry. He said that he and other men would play a musical instrument to go with a scene like the xylophone whenever Tom fell down the stairs or the saxophone if Jerry went "na na na na." The only thing he didn't say was which decade of cartoons he worked on. He got fired from the job for being late because he got stuck in an elevator at the studio for over an hour. As of now, he still teaches band for 5th graders and high schoolers

Personally, The Tom and Jerry's from the 1940s and 1950s are the best. The comedy, the animation and the music is incredible. I still watch a few episodes of it from time to time and I'm almost a teen 😅

#108: According to some, the Tom & Jerry in "Tom & Jerry Kids" aren't the original duo as children, but their sons. Tom Jr. & Jerry Jr. #109: Tom Jr. also has a twin brother named Tim. So Tom actually has 2 sons, while Jerry only has one. #110: The voices of the cat & mouse in "Tom & Jerry the Movie" were provided by Richard Kind (Bing Bong from "Inside Out) & the late Dana Hill (young Max Goof from "Goof Troop" ) respectively. #111. The very last Tom & Jerry cartoon from the Hannah Barbera era was said to be, "Blue Cat Blues," which caused a lot of controversy of a suicide theme.

All of those are true except the last one Blue Cat Blues was NOT the last Tom and Jerry cartoon from the Hanna-Barbera era. There were 2 more years of shorts after that. I'm sick of people throwing that myth around.

Also The Tom and Jerry Movie release date should have been July 30 1993 in the US and October 1 1992 in Germany and the last short was 1967 not 1968 unless they were referring to another short MGM did in 1968

As a child you rooted for Jerry for being smart and quick and outwitting Tom, but as an adult you can't help but cheer for Tom when you realize that he's just trying to do his job and that Jerry is pretty much a jerk. I'll always love this series.

Well, yeah, but... it's a cartoon. I mean man, if a cartoon offends you, you're gonna have a hard time living in this world. You shouldn't take a cartoon so seriously. Besides as a kid, I found her to be very funny. I was actually annoyed when they replaced her. His newer owners were SOOOO BORING compared to her. I particularly liked the scenes where she threw furniture at Tom.

Am I the only person who liked the Gene Deitch era? The voice acting and sound effects are part of what I found so hilarious about them. I find myself doing impressions of the angry captain from "Dicky Moe" on occasion. My favorite episodes where "Down and Outing," "It's Greek to Me-ow," "Landing Stripling," "Dicky Moe," "The Tom and Jerry Cartoon Kit," "Tall in the Trap," and "Carmen Get It."

Tom and Jerry tales was pretty much my child hood as well as many other older Era’s of Tom and Jerry, but it was mostly the originals and Tom and Jerry tales and I randomly watch at times the new series at times.

Back when I was a child, thee were two animation projects that made me laugh uncontrollably. Max and Ruby, and Tom and Jerry. What both of these projects had in common is that whenever Max or Jerry created a trap or did something goofy, there was anticipation. Once the goofy thing happened, I would be in total suspense, waiting for Ruby or Tom to react to the goofy thing. Once the reaction happened, I would burst out with laughter. So would my brother, who would often say "Oh no!" when the anticipation started. Today, I am more used to the gags of Tom and Jerry, but I still appreciate them as a piece of animation history. However I often wish Tom and Jerry would talk more often. I actually like the Tom and Jerry Movie specifically because it allowed Tom and Jerry to talk. Nevertheless, I consider myself a decent fan of Tom and Jerry.

Around the time the MGM Lion got replaced by Tom when Chuck Jones took over,that was my favorite animation style/design for these two and the writing for the comedy was perfection as every episode was laugh out hard funny,that and the weird sound from the music,it had a kinda squishy squirty type sound to it,you know what I mean??

In later shorts (after Hanna and Barbera stopped making them), Tom was very obviously caricature of Hannna while Jerry was caricature of Barbera. Always thought of it as nice homage to the original creators of the characters.

Roadrunner and Coyote are actually a parody of Tom and Jerry. No one got the joke, so that's why they were so successful.

I'm 15 and Tom and Jerry was my shirt when I was younger. Along with the Mickey mouse shorts and loony toons. I still love them to this day. I also used to watch Boomerang all the time but now we don't have that channel anymore.

Just discovered your channel. Love Tom & Jerry, with fave being "The Two Mouseketeers", prolly. Was surprised however that when you referenced their arts influences, you did not mention the jazz pianist Hiromi and her 2003 piece "The Tom and Jerry Show" - so much fun and wow! Saw her live and the sheer amount of energy this woman exhibited beautifully echoed the T&J cartoons!
