There is nothing more disgusting in this anxious time than knowing that there are thousands of hard working cows whose calves will get stolen. And if it's a male one, it will get killed for meat after a very short amount of time, 2 years on average. And when the females cant make milk anymore, they also have to die artificially instead of 10 more years to enjoy.

@davepelfrey39584 жыл бұрын
@@miasolum5612 free range is not always good for them. Where they stay, they don't have to be stressed out from something that's going to attack them. They get to eat and sleep whenever they want. Always taken care of. If there is even a limp, they are immediately taken care of. Hot sun or cold weather, rain or sleet or snow is not a worry for them. They don't have to worry about biting flies on there back all day. Comfortable and dry place to lie down. Farmers like this even installing back scratchers for more comfort to the cows. So, I do not see the point you are trying to make.

Greetings from Ireland. In the old days it was normal to bury a standing rock in a field that would stick out of the ground and act as a scratch post for the cattle. Something for them to scratch and massage themselves. Not so much these days but like you farmers are installing scatch brushes which do a similar job!

@southjerseysound73404 жыл бұрын
They're much smarter than most people give them credit. My great uncle had a big farm not far from these guys that was dairy and row crops. So his heard was a little smaller. But the cows could sense his mood and even knew when he was getting sick. They'd come up to him and lick his face at times even. The worst part was when he passed away, they missed him and wouldn't cooperate and milk production dropped by nearly 40% the first few weeks.

I've tried a few others - and they try too hard. I like Eric's approach of just showing us his day and what he does. He doesn't go commercial or glitz it up, just shows the work he did today and throws in a little humor such as finding the drinks. I really like that. I used to watch the Peterson Bros and I love their song parodies but they've gotten way too commercial and also preach too much. If I want a church sermon, I'll search for a church sermon. I'm atheist so obviously I don't. Eric's sharing his reading the Bible in one video because that was what he was actually doing (just told us he was reading it, not reading it to us) or occassionally closing with a Bible verse isn't offensive (again just puts it up there in print, doesn't read it to us) or preachy and I respect when he does witness, he does it low-key and respectfully. Makes me feel like he respects those of us who don't share his faith just as I respect his faith. Most farmers in America are Christian and I don't have a problem with that. To each their own. That's what America's all about. I'm here because I miss my uncle's dairy farm. Most of my uncles but that one gave up farming to go to work for GE which is disappointing because up 'til then my mother's family were dairy farmers in upstate NY since the 1600s and in England before that. As I put it, they've been farming since Cain for lack of a better reference to say as far back as we know.
@danross21504 жыл бұрын
Eric's vids are definitely the best. Other KZfaqrs film themselves talking way too much. I guess everybody's allowed to do whatever they want to do. I just really prefer the way Eric does things. Other guys are always trying to be funny and miss the mark. If I want to watch a comedy show I turn on Netflix and watch one! Eric's never trying to be something he's not that's why I like his vids the best by far. He's genuine, humble, and a good worker. Keep it up brother! Don't change a thing..... except maybe giving me a little more notice at the end of the videos so I can leave a like. Maybe (for like 20 seconds at the end of each video) just film a cow eating or scratching themselves on one of the brushes with a "Thanks for watching" written on screen or something. I feel bad when the video ends and skips to the next video, and I didn't get a chance to leave a like.
