Spectacular ride. I just inherited a 1985 SS that was garaged and maintained, but not driven, since 1985 with all original equipment and 337 miles. My uncle passed away just after buying the car off the lot and my mom couldn't part with it. She didn't want it, she always drove a Lincoln Mark VIII, so it went into the garage and now it's mine :)

When I was 15 and working on my driver's license and first set of wheels I had a good friend at work that had a '87 SS that offered to sell it to be back then for 2 grand and my father said no f'n way. :( That was back in 1989. :( I remember him taking me for a ride in it to go get lunch and he would show off and push it to the limit on the curves and we spun out once but he recovered but it was fun!. :) That was right when the Eagle GT's were being upgraded to the Eagle GT's +4's. Such a sexy looking car. I meant to say the GT+4's would have kept it gripping the road better than the GT's. :) That would have been one of my first upgrades to make to it before I was denied purchase of it. :( Wound up with a '79 D-100 Dodge pu with a slant six. Not that I am complaining too much, but I would have gotten a serious piece of ass I was after in high school that I wanted if I had the fuckin SS. Jeanne Vance I am sorry to drag you around in that old fucking dodge POS. Forgive me my love!! :(

I have a black 1987 Monty SS with a T-top. Purchased it new when word from GM came they were going to discontinue the G body platform. I use it as a weekend driver. 65K on the clock, most of those miles with the roof off. This car is a Babe magnet. Always stored in a garage and has never seen rain or snow. At thirty-two years old the paint could do with some refreshing but all in all its a great car. When this car goes down the road it turns a lot of heads. Easy to repair and the parts are cheap. Its the last of its kind and I will never sell it.

@@richardprentice4431 The Q-Jet carb is a great carb but in its configuration on the 5.0 liter high output engine the factory settings were not designed to run on E-10 gasoline. Mine ran lean with poor cold weather driveability issues. To fix the problem you have to remove the idle mixture plugs. The idle mixture screws are set at one turn out and capped at the factory and the computer is suppose to richin the mixture as required. Turn them out to 1 3/4 turns out and set the mixture control solenoid to 30 degree dwell and the the drivability issues will be gone. There is nothing like the roar of a Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. They just have to be adjusted properly to run on the E10 Gasoline.

It's just like the one in the video except maroon color and without the pinstripes.. Everything is original except the wheels, has 14000 miles on it.. I store it every winter..

Very nice Monte. I had a white 87 SS and it would easily bark 2nd gear. It would also do 130+ mph no problem. It loved to go fast. The more I hot roded it the better it ran. It was so much fun but eventually all that fun started to catch up with it and I couldn't maintain it so I sold it😭😭😭

Beautiful! That being said, I think your asking price may be out of line. This isn't a 69 SS 396 Chevelle we have here. I'm not ripping the car, I own a 70,000 mile original paint 87 SS that I have won 9 trophies with, including a best of show. I didn't pay anywhere near that much. Again, not ripping on it, but these cars will never be worth a fortune.

always some chooch with these comments that has no miles! thats another reason for the price! i have an 88 black ss, when i get it painted , according to hagerty mine is a number 2 car, which is about 24 or 25 grand, the car in this video is a number 1 car! its original , mint , low miles are you not a car guy? lmao these are really coming up in value

This car is one of the last 2 door full frame fisher bodies made not going to knock your 69 chevelle SS but the frame on a G-body is far superior it's fully boxed like most trucks l believe this car could very well be worth the same money as your 69 SS in the near future maybe even more the only thing in these G-bodies that sucked was the engine transmission and rearend other than the Buick GN with the 8.5 rearend all this can be changed to a GM LS engine late model trans and a Buick 8.5 rearend or a Ford 8.8 from a mustang as far as the body style it ranks with 55-57 chevys 67-69 camaros 68- 72 chevelles as far as desirable and ranks as one of the best looking cars GM ever made look at the shit they are making now getting 40-50 thousand for a 2019 camaro ss it's made with cheap parts made like shit other than the engine that powers it not a fan of the direct port injection or the body style unless your 396 has got a lot of work done to it in other words not stock it will absolutely not keep up with newer late model LS engines or last as long it's built much better will lasts longer and make more power l believe your 69 SS was worth more in the 80s and 90s because at that time the power the cars had did not compete with you 396 today well its quite a different story

@@Flemingsclassics Haha . Only sold for about 18 brand new. If it's original, its had no money go into restoration. Good luck with that. Not with a measly 180 hp.

Ener Rivers literally thousands of people have bought cars from him. He’s a nerd but he’s a nerd with 80 or more of the coolest cars that you can imagine, at any given time. Fleming’s ultimate garage has sold over 3,000 cars since we opened. He’s owned and sold everything from the elusive Superbird, to the latest Petty Garage Mustang. How’s your collection coming along, though?
