I like this series....the Odyssey did have VTEC and I think there's a special league where they only race Odyssey vans. The J series V6s are very powerful for what they are and are still used in Hondas and Acuras today. People are starting to tune these engines as well. Boosted boys had swapped an H22 prelude engine into an older Odyssey. The Odyssey was swapped to manual on the floor instead of Auto on the tree and boosted to make lots of power. I guess EG hatches can't be found under 5K and I think people are sleeping on the EJ1 coupes ( black civics from The Fast and the Furious).

I've had 7 Hondas of all types. My 1997 Prelude is by the far the one I've enjoyed most, and around here in the Midwest, is usually the only of its kind in a parking lot or meet. The H22 torque and howl is fantastic.

First Gen CRV hands down one of the most slept on projects, you can throw a b16 or b18 head on the b20 block and can get some good power out of it. there's surprisingly a lot of good parts for them and also the share the same parts as the civic (EM,EK) since they are brother and sisters and share the same chassis.

I own a 1993 Honda Prelude S (F22a1 5 speed) that I bought on Marketplace for $1200. In total I wanna say I put around a few hundred into it so overall its just under or at $2000. It has taken me from Albuquerque, New Mexico to San Antonio, Texas TWICE, thats 750 miles one way, 1500 miles in total. It never game me any issues whatsoever, was a solid drive the entire time. I will say the Prelude is an underappreciated reliable car

As a CB7 owner this is very true, i bought mine with the original motor but with the spice from the last owner, which ended up causing everything to go down hill, talking motor all the way to fend rust and missing wires. But i still love it and working on it because its not a common car to see at meets, ive brought it to meets where people mistakenly think its a s13 because they have similar body work and the cool 90s seatbelts

@@trail_mix24 for real, they made some front bumper to match the r34 gtt and r32 gtr. For mine im currently building a k24a2 block with a k20 rsx head, turbo but its going to be a show build with a clean and decently fast engine
@trail_mix24

@@zinizter8251 I'm building mine more for downhill mountain stuff. Stiff suspension, speedy engine, AIT racing extreme full kit, racing D1 fenders, roof spoiler, and eventually fiberglass or carbon hood and trunk. The J30 should give plenty of power, especially on the low end. I might twin turbo the v6 or toss a little roots blower on if I want to race uphills, but NA will keep my engine running longer and better on cheaper fuel

We used to have a 93 cb7 when I was younger and not into cars yet, I loved that accord, with the manual transmission it just kept going, had some vibrations and rattles and a minor oil leak and a hole in the muffler, you could hear it half a mile away, 😂 but sold it at over 300,000 miles for $700 to some guy who could really use it. The engine bays are so cramped though compare to other Hondas it’s insane, replacing the alternator was a knuckle buster

CL9 CL7/TSX Is one of the best cars ive ever owned and regret on sell. I love the chassis, it looks timeless and amazing. Ive owned a 05 accord type s / euro body kit, and it aged really well, still got compliments and how clean it is despite the age. The only hate i have for the car is how heavy it is. You can feel how heavy it is when youre max throttle and feel it struggling. Regardless, good looks, just not a performance car you might be thinking of.

Yeah it’s a great daily, sporty but also reliable. But you’ll hate it if you get one expecting it to be a performance car. The K24A2 in it has potential, but is held back by stuff like weight and the awful DBW implementation. But a great car nonetheless. I plan on driving mine until it dies.

My neighbor just hit me and totaled my ‘97 crv like three weeks ago :( They are definitely super reliable when taken care of, my engine just hit 270k only issue was the transmission which I had replaced around 260ish, but those old auto transmissions are known to be weak especially with age. Thinking back I wish I swapped it for manual… maybe I’ll try and find manual first gen soon. I already miss my automatic :(( I gotta correct you on the engine though, the second gens do have K series (k20/k24), but the first gens are B series (b20b/z) so the second gens are definitely a little stronger engine wise. The b20 is still very solid when taken care of, but I would still pick k series over it any day tuning wise. TLDR Hondas are tanks
