This new Armada Prime looks absolutely stunning. As a big Armada fan i hope we get more characters from the show. Especially Jetfire that can powerlink with Optimus and Mini cons.

It's true. Im 30 now, and Armada was my true G1, though I did watch Beast machines and RiD live. I am buying everything Armada that is put out, even the FansHobby masterpiece figures.

What a fantastic video! From Protoman laying out the history of this and all his knowledge to Mr Archer's behind the curtain stories of Convoy. You both do amazing work and please keep doing these as they are rare treasures that we don't get from other content creators in the Transformers community. I will agree with Mr. Archer's statement; when Micron came out here in Japan it felt like a true rebirth of Generation 1, not just in mood but products too. With Beast Wars and Car Robots we got toys and a few side items (mostly food goods) but with Micron we got puzzles, Tomica cars, building blocks, clothing and more. Micron was a true return. Thank you for all your hard work.

I eagerly await a redeco of the Legaxy Commander based on one of the older color schemes. Just so long as it isn't Costco exclusive again.

This is great! Honestly, I would love to see the two of you do more video's like this, and not just over Aaron Archer's creations, but also with other dated toys. For example, I would love to see Aaron and Daniel discuss Star Convoy. Personally, and it might just be me, but i see a LOT of similarities between Armada OP and Star Convoy, particularly the vehicle mode.

legit me and my 2 TF Brothers all grew up with the unicorn trilogy and for the 3 of us to see Legacy Armada Prime, was a literal dream come true, especially from my one brother who was a Katrina Survivor and lost almost all his UT figures, Prime was one of the lost figs. For me this was my introduction to tf at the good ol age of 4.

I hope Hasbro is ballsy enough to deviate from the traditional G1 designs for most characters but still making them look recognizable enough to how they are. Just like what the unicron trilogy did for Optimus.

A very revealing interview with great information on the development of the Transformers brand. Hearing about the internal initiative to incorporate features with the conversion makes me wonder what ways those gimmicks can be brought back. I feel that the best way to do this would be to develop a line of commander class of the original Primes (the Ancients). Since they are only referred to in lore and have never actually been properly represented in toy form or media, there is room for lots of creativity. From Vector Prime to Megatronus Prime I can imagine the use of translucent parts with cogs that move as they are being transformed and using past creative deco such as the cyber fire or Cybertronian tattoos, with each one having its own removable and distinctive matrix. I would love to see Prima transform into a comet as an homage to the movie-inspired Optimus Prime protoform, while still retaining his intricately armored robot form.

This series doesn't get anywhere near the viewership it deserves. It's fantastic. Maybe it's just not ready to discover for the mainstream KZfaq / toy folks.

Next armada characters for me I want is red alert and cyclonus. More ps2 characters.

I want a Commander Class Tidalwave and Voyager Class Scavenger.

I was 27 years old when Armada came out. I never could get into the show...but I ended up with quite a few of the toys. I had Superpants sealed in his box for good while before discovering by way of the internet that he could autotransform. I had to open him just to experience that! As much as the gimmick gimps the functionality of his super mode, I don't think I'd want it any other way. He was such a fun toy!

Sometimes I really enjoy going back, and checking out stuff like this. The speculations, and predictions, compared to what came to pass is fascinating. Hey Aaron, how bout that Tidal Wave, as who you'd like to see them tackle, eh? lol GREAT stuff. I am 47 so a g1er. I am really trying to get into Armada, I really am. It's just the over dubbed part I can't seem to psyche myself out of being bothered by. I know, I know, I get how dumb that is. The designs are absolutely AMAZING! The minicon concept is so original, and unique. I have the new Prime commander class, and the leader megs to go with him. I had screamer, but got so frustrated with my legs falling off I got rid of it. I'm wanting to grab another and I'm wanting that Hotshot? the one that comes with his minicon. I'm more than happy to keep collecting these guys. back in the day, I had the 1st run Unicron, and I had the little tank one, which I thought was pretty dope back then. I'm trying to get through it, but I just have a hard time with the dubs.

I wasnt the biggest fan of the show, at least the american version that aired, but i l9ved the atmada designs and toys. I really wish hasbro would do another era of really going away if giving g1 some breathing room

Does the original toy cost more than the new legacy commander class version?

I can't get over the fact that the new Armada Optimus Prime has no doors. I just can't buy a doorless truck.
