That Japanese meal you had on the flight and how you said you had missed rice reminded me. I once spent a couple of weeks staying with my family in England and almost every meal was based around chips (French fries). On my last night I looked for a Chinese restaurant just so I could have a meal that did not have chips in it.

Enjoyed your NA series so much, from the details of the train trips available, the incredible reminder of the wonderous scenery encountered all told with wit and charm. Your polite delight in the small things brought smiles and laughter (Oh my!). And so fitting that your last meal inlcuded your beloved blueberry muffin (but where was the OJ???). I travelled with ANA around thanksgiving and everything was mostly pleasant aside from the plane being hot as hell and not having the air control thing at the top that all other planes I have travelled in had.

Great flight. Unfortunately you got middle seat but at least you have an aisle access. Pro tip for Hard Ice Cream like this, firstly your spoon must be heated at your hot drink, and after that put it on top of lid or packaging, hope this help. That Dora the Explorer for Doraemon movie, and Japanese Italian Plumber for Super Mario is make me laugh.

6:00 I'm glad to see that at SFO, United Airlines employees are cross trained to work on ANA, fellow star alliance airlines, often in the USA, this isn't done often, most of the time, they are contracted out to 3rd party carriers rather than Partnering airlines in the united states.

Yes, when I was in Switzerland last year, I spent at abut the same rate as you did over 2 weeks 🥲 When I flew ANA once, I found it strange that I was served rice AND noodles. But then I thought at least I can be sure my stomach would be full! Glad you made it back many months ago! I'll be in Japan in 2 weeks \(^o^)/

Airplane ice cream is always rock hard for some reason 😂 My parents and I had the same issue when we got ice cream on flights to and from Madeira over 20 years ago, and the joke between us is that maybe they store the ice cream outside on the wings of the airplane, instead of a regular freezer! It's just been the same rock hard ice cream on every flight we've been on through the years. Does taste good at least, once you have let it melt a bit for like 10+ minutes near or on top a cup of coffee or tea

I like ANA in PE. For some reason, even though JAL has 4” more pitch, I seem to sleep better in ANA’s seat. As for food, ANA PE is much better than JAL, though I’ll give the nod to JAL in business class. Love the fact that the Japanese airlines provide lounge access in PE. Although bothSan Francisco lounges (ANa in the United Club Lounge and JAL in its own lounge) leave much to be desired compared to the lounges at Haneda and Narita.

I recently did the SFO to Haneda (Tokyo) round trip in premium economy. 👍 to ANA but prices have gone up quite a bit compared to 5 or more years ago. Estimated flight time at take-off was 8 hours and 40 minutes. (Edited: Tokyo/Haneda to SFO was 8:40 time estimate...faster route)
