A compilation of 2 years worth of Instagram clips, repurposed into a raw KZfaq video. I shoot most of my Instagram content with a regular camera at either a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio, then crop it vertically for reels. This video showcases a lot of those clips in their original state.
Shot throughout 2022/2023 on a Panasonic GH5 and GH6.

Dan, you have been my favorite and most inspiring BMX rider for going on ten years now. Every time I watch a video of yours, I admire the creativity in your small jibs-clanking a peg on the quarter as you scoot off of it, bonking a tire on a random object while 180ing, using a tight and small space to do wild but buttery tech. Add to that the creative way you frame and shoot everything and leave it ambient much of the time, it feels so unique and heightens the experience. Thanks for sharing your radness the way you do. You rip.

Thanks! I have a 12-60mm Lumix lens that I use more than anything else, so I'd go with that. It has so much versatility and it has a smooth zoom that holds focus if I'm filming someone else.

Thank you! There's a mix of 80% and 40%. I'll shoot some stuff in 60p, then do whatever feels right in the 24p timeline.

That clip at 2:40 - was it atop a parking garage? Do you lock up your camera somehow or just hope for the best?

That was at a shut down mall where the entrance to the garage was right next to the spot, so luckily I was able to monitor if anyone rolled up. I do my best to remain aware of the surroundings, but there's always an element of uncertainty

@@danfoleybmx appreciate the reply! It caught my eye as one of the furthest tripod shots. I love the creativity and vision you have in setting up these angles- even with a phone and a gorillapod I’ve been able to get some nice angles but I’m always looking for more creative places to film from!
