Have you ever thought about an NFL player that was in the spotlight one moment and then seemingly overnight you never heard their name again? While you might hear little snippets of info here and there about the players mentioned in this video, nowadays these guys don't have spots on NFL rosters for various different reasons. These are 11 NFL players that disappeared from the league suddenly.

The craziest thing about Todd Gurley is how young he still is he only turned 30 this year yet he’s been out of the NFL for 4 years

The only back to ever go for back to back 1k rushing seasons and still be unwanted but then again he was a short skinny RB who wasn’t the best catcher or blocker and couldn’t be a power back not fast enough for outside plays either and he would usually go down on first contact but hey he technically never fumbled

Todd Gurley was disregarded too early, NO he wasn’t the same but he still was serviceable. Still put up 9 TDs his last yr(only QBs scored more with less touches) and as a backup RB he could have been useful
@FlameWingMan
@FlameWingMan 10 күн бұрын
I don't think it has nothing to do with him being disregarded...his knee was gone and he had to make the honest choice of not playing anymore and still be able to walk instead of possibly walking with crutches or even worse the rest of his life

@@FlameWingMan obviously it was ultimately his choice but teams weren’t offering anyway. He sit in FA awhile with no offers before retiring

@334ben10 yes he sat on FA for a while.cause teams got all the information on his knee that we couldn't get access to and they knew his knee was bad than what was reported

@@FlameWingMan bruh ok what I know this and what I said still stands I don’t need your explanation😂😂 his knees were still good enough to put up 9 TDs and STILL was serviceable, Todd already spoke on this. Teams didn’t hear anything we didn’t they just weren’t interested
@FlameWingMan
@FlameWingMan 10 күн бұрын
@334ben10 yeaaah, I highly doubt they were good enough if you're going by the 9 TDs in ATL. obviously his explosiveness wasnt there any more...he was pretty much powering through the severity of his knee...that's what you're not understanding especially in this era of football...these guys are retiring way early than just playing 10+ years through a bad injury

Three TEs that could also be found on “one-year wonder” videos: Jordan Cameron, Gary Barnidge, and Eric Ebron. All of them had their best statistical year by a long shot with tuddies for days, looked like a future star in the making, and then disappeared within 2 or 3 seasons. Speaking of Browns’ one-year wonders, QB Terrelle Pryor switched to WR in his 4th season, then in his 6th season in 2016 he eclipses 1000 yards for a very bad Browns team with terrible QBs, but then doesn’t even reach 1000 yards combined over his final two seasons playing for some other dumpster teams of Washington, Buffalo, and the Jets.

Deuce McCallister was a beast in New Orleans for about 2-3 years… then it seemed like the second they drafted Reggie Bush he was snuck out the back door! Another guy was Travis Henry for the Bills and Titans, he would kill it in 2002 amd 2003 on the Bills. They draft McGahee anyway and it was like Buffalo instantly forgot what Henry just did for them those 2 years! Then this exact scenario played out for Henry once again In Tennessee 😮‍💨 🤦‍♂️

Todd Gurley was the sole reason i fell in love w the Rams. They were such an exciting team to watch in those couple of yrs he was a starting RB. I still root for the Rams but i wished T.Gurley was still a part of the team.....they would've been the most unstoppable offense in the league!

......................He started 7 games. He played in all 16 games and had over 330 carries. He was basically rb1 all year. Lol. Only reason he didn't start every game was because Holmes was still "considered" the rb1, but he didn't even have 150 carries that season and never really played again. No, he wouldn't be in the 2k club.

Another player in my opinion that had their career sadly cut short because of injury is Doug Martin former running back of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2012 to 2018 injuries is what messed up his career but he had a couple really great years. and had he been able to stay healthy I think he could’ve been one of the best running backs in the NFL

AB84? I don’t think a twelve year career with an 8-year stretch as one of the best in the league qualifies as “very good but couldn’t make the long run.” Did he go from the mountain top to being out of the league a little sooner than some thought? Sure, he didn’t end up with Moss, Owens, Fitzgerald-type longevity and it had probly more to do with his brain than his body. But idk how you can say he belongs on this list. Joe Haden also had a 13 year career, and played for years after his best statistical seasons. So three of your five suggestions are bunk.

Telvin Smith. Idk if it counts as “too soon” being that part of his leaving the NFL had to do with abusing a minor and so he doesn’t deserve a life of luxury playing a game for a career, but he had 5 seasons as an incredible 4-3 OLB where he eclipsed 100 tackles every season. He also was very good in pass coverage. Then he did what he did and retired early with the indication he would some day return, only for the details to come out and it being clear he’d never make a comeback.
