I agree with a lot of your points. That said, I enjoy catching live bait. Wether cast netting, sabiki rigs, pinfish traps or flipping rocks for muds crabs. Different times of year mean different bait availability or different target species which adds another element to the experience. To me it's just another technique that has it's applications and adds variety. Obtaining, keeping and rigging live baits is a skill that crosses over if you fish for a wide variety of species and variety of environments (inshore, near shore, offshore, etc).

#9 spot on about the guides, lol. I have friends who are guides, and they would agree. I also had a guide friend, Capt John L Taylor that NEVER used live bait. In fact used exclusively the Bayou Chub Minnow. There were some spirited contests between him and Redbone Speculizer vs Bayou Chub Minnow. It was always a virtual tie; 2 great fishermen who COULD FIND FISH!!

Used to love Capt. John's reports, and his demeanor in the reports section. Those were the good ole days of the internet.

I prefer to use artificial…. But when I have kids or very inexperienced people fishing with me… live or dead shrimp definitely help

There is a real satisfaction to catching a good box with artificials. When speaking about specks or reds, Yes, only artificials, but if I go after catfish, sheepshead, white trout, you know, the "other" species, I will bring a bag of dead shrimp. $2 bucks of dead shrimp can load the chest with those species, and lead to a fun day of just sitting down and reeling in something for the grease. I also fished with my daughter for years, and in the beginning, it was often live shrimp, but she has graduated. Heck, I often get out fished by her and my wife with artificials. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to make videos and providing some entertainment. Subscribed.

As of the writing of this book, the prolific angler who invented the extensive “Deadly Dudley” soft plastic lure line had caught three 10-pound-plus specks, and more than 50 9-pounders, many of them coming from Lake Pontchartrain. Why did he use live bait lol

Why are you talking different from your older videos?

Right. It’s weird.

I would rather catch fewer fish with plastics than using live bait. That said most times I do as well or better than fishing buddy who uses live bait. Need to be better fisherman however.

Live shrimp free lined is something people like u never tried. To begin live bait is like lures U got to know how to use. My advise Look at Tommy Vidrine video and your trips then we talk

You're clearly a purist....and there's nothing wrong with that. But, your prejudice goes way over the top.
