@@brandonknight7240 Yes indeed! I had a '68 Camaro SS that had with a "spring loaded" Hurst shifter, atop one of those whiney M-22s. I just had to hit a certain RPM & slam it straight up from 2nd to 3rd, still used the clutch tho, as I recall...long long time ago! Of course with those 4:11s in the rear, I usually came off the line in 2nd gear, so shifting wasn't much of a problem, Real Estate was! Still fun times! Rock on all!

True story. His drive train must be pretty stout to pop off 11's. He's adding life to it by not power-shifting.
@joequillun77905 жыл бұрын
@@125southernnh2 All true to the above. But I guess "not" doing a burnout will also save on the life of his tires. The entire purpose of having a drag car with a 4 speed, is the ability to row the stick shift correctly, to get the cars maximum performance. And I would think if a person wanted the world to see a video of his machine, and driving talents, then powershifting would be on the top of his list. Especially using an in car camera shot. Reapplying the clutch and throttle after ever shift is actually harder on the car. Many years ago they put a camera under a Chevy II and tried both ways of shifting, speed shifting and slow shifting. They found that speed shifting kept the slack out of the drive train and transmission, therefore keeping the load constant which put less strain on the suspension, motor mounts and frame.
