You have explained measures so clearly!! I’m a inches lady! Don’t get on with cm!! Also Ann if you see this I’d love you to explain the measures on cutting cards! I just line up my card with the envelope to get the right size…I know a lot of you will be laughing at me…😂😂 but it will help me. Thank you for all your videos you are so inspiring and clear instructions. Sending big hugs from an old 76 yr old Nana.🥰🥰💕💕🐶🐶❤️👍👍

As a former teacher, I really appreciate seeing you address measurements! It's not something that is even taught much in a lot of places, and that's a disservice to students. It's important and useful!

That's shocking to me. As I was watching her explain fractions, I became very confused ...how do people not understand what 1/8 of an inch is? I repeat...I'm shocked.😳

@@jaytee2642 thing to keep in mind not every country uses imperial measurements but metric so they are more familiar with millimetres & centimetres , & not everyone is mathematically minded so fractions are confusing to them

Brilliant star box. I see now I could fold the bottom flaps up into the star and tape them to the lid and use it as a lid that can be removed from the star bottom. What a great idea on building a box from any shape. Thanks for sharing this.

You are a gifted, born teacher!!! I am not a crafter but love learning everything... because, who knows what tomorrow may bring ?!? Something prob mostly all know, but here's a tip I learned in fashion school. Never ever use scissors used for fabric on paper, and conversely, never use paper scissors on fabric. Keep your 2 collections separate ... label them all. Paper dulls scissors quite rapidly and, over time, will not give you accurate cutting on fabric. Thanks very much, Ann!

I was a Math teacher in the US for 38 years. I always wondered how you metric people knew about fractions. I used to tell my students that if their parents and grandparents hadn’t been so stubborn about not changing to metrics in the 1970’s, they would have saved years of learning fractions!

I agree 2,000% about paper trimmers... It drives me crazy not to have a sharp clean STRAIGHT cut! I have a couple of different trimmers for different purposes but I always go back to my rotary or my guillotine because I know those are going to give me great cuts every time. I hate the ragged, scraggly edges just like you, I'll get a nail file and smooth them down if it's the only choice I have 😅. You can put hours into making an amazing card but if the cut isn't good you might as well just toss it all in the bin. I'm also an art glitter glue girl and I don't think you will ever get it away from me. I literally have it marked on my calendar when the last fall shipping days are so that I don't run out during the winter (they don't ship here when it's cold unfortunately). It grabs quick, it dries flat and clear, it's worth every penny.

I don’t know which of these I found most useful. I loved all the tips. I’m glad you discussed measurements, but I really don’t understand why so many people do not know how to measure eights, sixteenths, or more. I learned how to do that in grade school. Maybe it’s because I’m old, 71, and maybe they don’t teach it in school now. I know they don’t teach cursive writing now. We learned how to do half inch, quarter inch, eighth inch, sixteenth, thirty second inch, and sixty fourth inch when I was a child. You explained it very well, just count the number of marks that it takes to get to the inch mark and you know what it is. I’m finding all these videos lately to be very helpful. Thank you.

Thank you, Ann! So many useful hints--I had no idea about the boxes, or "faking the Glossy Accents." I did have to order the cool background die In your Xmas card video that looked like Van Gogh's "Starry Night." It's even got wind movement. I did appreciate you talking about silicone vs photopolymer stamps. I got some "bootleg stamps" recently, and I had to literally use an Emory nail board to sand off the coating to get the ink to stop bubbling up. Also, the coordinating dies were much larger than the box size I was trying to put a window in. Plus, these stamps felt like chewing gum!!!!!! You really do get what you pay for.

If you're tight on space, and budget, a Black Tuxedo Memento and Black Staz On ink pad will get you through. Depending on the cost, a blank empty ink pad re-inked with glycerin can double as a Versamark Ink Pad. For gift wish lists for the people in your life wondering what to get you: Ranger Ink sells a collection of 12 mini Archival Inks that match Distress Ink colours. They are on Canadian Amazon, don't know about UK Amazon. It's a perfect rainbow of any colour you would need plus two browns for antiquing, a darker, cool grey and black. The archival for waterproof stamping for water colouring or alcohol ink markers. The distress ink for the actual watercolouring. Just tap the Distress Ink pad [not Oxide, original Distress Ink] on a silicon or laminated surface, add a small spritz of water and voila! watercolour paint.

Great tips Ann. I definitely wish I knew then, what I do now. Maybe you can do one of these indebt videos on the different types of ink and why they are necessary. I know you touched a bit on it here, but if you title it the difference in ink, people searching will find it. When I started I had no idea what ink was what. Also show why people don't need colored embossing powder, they can just stamp in that colored ink and use clear glossy, matt, or glittery powders. Matt embossing powder for watercoloring helps so much.

Such brilliant tips, Ann! Some of them I did know.... I do use a precision base plate....I LOVE it! And I purchase a kid's type, fun foam, to use as dimension on die cuts...works great. I did not know about putting a colored ink with versa mark before heat embossing! Also, the translucent napkin idea is very cool. I own a laminator too, because of your fabulous laminating ideas! 🙂 Thanks for such an informative video! Hugs ❤ Suzy xo

Some tricks there thanks. For the glue, I find Colall better because it doesnt warp.

Thank you for sharing. My favorite tip was putting glue on a sponge for intricate dies. Eureka!

OMG!! What a GREAT video. Learned alot. You answered my one big question I was wondering about. Different kinds of ink pads.Loved how you had all there and showing them when talking about it. Kinda new to stamping.that has helped me. I saved this to rewatch, and put info in my notebook for future references. Thank you much for sharing. Learned alot.. thinking about a laminator too. Getting closer to getting one. Might need to see a few more things that you can do with it first. Getting there.. lol Thanks again...

If you haven’t got a foam pad for polymer stamping then a stack of copy paper is a good alternative x
