Four timer in Baja and here's what I'd add... 1) The Topes are manageable but its the Vados (water drainage channels across the road) that will put you down in a heartbeat. With a bit of standing or running water in them, moss can develop and they are slicker than snot. (ask me how I know - currently at home nursing a broken ankle). 2) If you come up behind a car or truck and they turn on their left turn signal, they are either telling you a) its ok to pass them on the left or b) they are actually going to turn left. More likely the former than the latter, but choose wisely. 3) Anyone who tells you Baja is dangerous has never been. I've ridden the length of it 4 times in recent years and twice solo and never once had any issue of any kind. The locals are kind, generous and welcoming to riders and it only gets better if you can speak even a little Spanish. 4) I will put the fish tacos from Tacos El Muelle food truck in Guerrero Negro up against Eric's favorite shrimp tacos from San Jose del Cabo any day. And don't even get me started on the lobster breakfast burritos at Mama Espinoza's in El Rosario.

I miss the lunches down at the Tropicana Hotel in San Jose del Cabo . Take the side streets and watch out for the military jeeps etc with dual 50 cals on the hunt . What about proof of being jabbed ? I will not participate in that so border crossing could be an issue . My 9' Team Diawa surf rod and fishing gear would be on my bike one way or another along with all the spices and cooking gear to prepare what I catch . Love Baja !

Some day!!! My family has spent time living in Southern California when I was growing up, and a couple of times a year we’d load up the 4x4 and head down for a long weekend in Baja, once you get out of the border towns, it is so beautiful and relaxing. We live in the east coast now, but will hopefully get to share with my own family in the future. If a motorcycle can be part of the adventure even better!

These are great videos and I just wanted to add that spending over 10 years racing down in Baja professionally, there is no substitute for experience. Every time I headed down South, I learned something new. One thing I would tell my chase crew was "Don't Pass Gas" meaning even if you think you have enough gas, stop and top off if you can. Another trick with the federales at checkpoints, was to pack some extra Mechanix Wear Gloves (Camouflage) just in case you need an extra "Thank You" to get out of a situation. My list is long but effective. I can tell the team at Ride Adventures is a company that has done their homework. I wouldn't suggest going down on your own with a few buddies without the Baja knowledge and experience required to have a great time and be safe. I have zero affiliation with RA but I would recommend them for your next Baja adventure 🇲🇽🏁

Great tips! I just got back from Baja after taking one of your tours down to San Jose del Cabo. I'm glad I watched the weather and packed some layers. It definitely was chilly in the morning and those topes are no joke. 😂

This is an excellent video. Thank you. I like Tip #11. Story about those Topos speed bumps. We were down for work in Central Mexico for a few months and one of the guys had a Mercedes rental car and hit those things so fast (over 120+ mph) and hard that it launched the vehicle into the air and when it came down the engine fell out of the car and skidded to a stop in front of the car. He told the rental agency that he was avoiding a horse in the fog. He couldn't get fired as he was our boss. LOL

We didn't get the best footage of some of the big ones in the video, but yea, the Topes down there can be quite serious. ---- The horse story totally applies there, too : )

and if you do the more off road stuff watch out for rain ruts. A semi nice fast old road looks great until you crest the top and see the spiderweb of foot deep rain ruts while doing your little wheelie over the crest at speed. Ask me how I know.

Stop signs mean slow down and look. You're not expected to come to a complete stop. You may just get rear-ended. Also, I was going about 55 and saw a vehicle on the shoulder ahead. I hand signalled left as I was going to swing wide and the car behind me took that as a signal for him to pass. There was also another car coming up ahead in the opposite lane that, due to the slight right hand bend to the road, the car behind me couldn't see. Things were exciting for a split second and thankfully no one hit anyone else. Apparently signalling left with someone behind you is understood differently than in the States. Am I mistaken?

Hi, great video and info. What about crossing the border on your way back to the US ? What paperwork do you need. Someone told me that you need to show to the authorities your bike registration under your name not to the bank if you still owe payments.

I'm thinking of putting my KLX 300 on the back of my Taco and crossing Baja border on the KLX. Do you think the 300 will be too under powered to get all the way down to CSL? I'm a 165 soaking wet so I can prob load er down with gas n gear pretty good.
