"Stage fright" having a madman on the loose wearing a giant owl head and armed with a chainsaw is a great visual, and a criminally underrated film. "Popcorn" is another unappreciated horror with a fun villain. But "The Burning" and "The Prowler" are classics and both involved Tom Savini and it shows with the gruesome kills and bloody practical effects. Great list.👍

I wanted Dr Giggles to preform the heart transplant on the girl and have it work. I liked the Prowler but I did wonder why he used a pitch fork instead of his bayonet. I also thought there could have been a opening scene with the soldier, his back to us, in a German prison camp telling his fellow soldiers about his girl waiting back home. He could tell his friends her love is keeping him sane, then he receives a Dear John letter just as he is being rescued/released.

80s and 90s horror films are the best

Black Christmas is an all-time classic. I will never forget that creepy film.

I wasn't a fan of Urban Legend. It seemed like too much of a Scream rip-off to me. I definitely recommend Dr. Giggles and The Dentist.

TAG... The Assasination Game ... featured early roles for both Anthony Edwards and Linda Hamilton as college students . it was about the aforementioned game (that I played in college). This time one student is playing with a real gun instead of a dart gun. The darts were tipped with suction cups that stuck to anything and everything.. Excellent movie and a greet slasher as well.

Dr Giggles is one of my favorite movies. I own the VHS and still watch it all the time.

TOO SCARED TO SCREAM seemed like a lost episode of Mannix. All the films on this list were well made but too sophisticated for the young audiences of the era.

Killer party and slaughter high are good ones

The Burning is talked about all the time and personally I find it highly overrated. I much prefer Madman. I agree with Stage Fright and Popcorn. Those are great movies. I'd also like to add that Dolls and The Kindred (1987) almost never get talked about and they are both fantastic movies. Some others are Mountaintop Motel Massacre, Mausoleum, Initiation, Sorority House Massacre, Flesh Eating Mothers, Sleepwalkers, Ghoulies 2, Slugs, Mirror Mirror, The Beast Must Die, Slaughterhouse, Superstition, Night of the Demon, Slayer, Nightmare Beach, Nomads, Summer of Fear, Evil Laugh, After Midnight, and Ghost Story.

I thought Dr. Giggles (operation Giggles) was terrible. Maybe on a re-watch it's better but I remember it being dreadful.

Because of videos like this, I watched The Burning and The Prowler and both were typical slasher fare and not worthy of their accolades. The improvised dialog by the campers -- especially Jason Alexander -- didn't feel real as much as came off annoying. Once again, the victims were all "types" and "Cropsy" was merely a two-dimensional villain. The Prowler was even worse with some truly long and boring stretches. The opening promised something a little different being set post WWII but it quickly became a standard slasher with a villain reveal that was not explained outside of the filmmakers wanting the shock of it being someone who was only onscreen from less than five minutes an hour prior.
