Utopia is easily top 10 Ateez tracks for me. The vocal line slaps hard. Their melodies are unrivaled. So catchy, every damn song. They know how to ride out a melody.

It is! Or as he described "mellow". Bc it goes along the lyrics meaning so well :') Many don't notice this is a partially sad song, I mean the definition of Utopia, which comes from the book of Thomas More with the same name of an island on the New World (and surprise they have a song called like that and it was almost the group name!), ended being popularized and described as a goal impossible to reach or an imagined! place or state of things in which everything is perfect, contrary to the dystopia we are in (and then Illusion comes next :')). It's kind of optimist and hopeful but you can also listen the desperation of wanting to reach Utopia but not being there yet so it's almost like a wish that you can only dream..Just a perfectly conveyed song of those feelings like frustration, hopefulness, desperation and sadness! But at least on that moment bc they are always determined to reach their dreams with everyone one way or another like we are seeing!😼

That was one amusing yet very relatable crisis you had there😆 Utopia is just an emotional rollercoaster for me, the instrumental is cheerful, the vocal melody nostalgic, the lyrics very hopeful and the last part just makes me want to cry for some reason. You're spot on with the 'summer vibes album' description, that's exactly what it is! This was a fresh turn Ateez took with their concept since the earlier ones were somewhat gritty and dark; and it was rewarding in many ways. They are just so versatile, they can nail any concept and make it look authentic! You'll see as you watch more of their content. Anyways, hope you're having a pleasant day! I have to tell you, I respect you very much. I don’t know how you do it. I gave up on ranking their songs a lifetime ago 😂 I personally love listening to Utopia while I’m driving, alone in the car, with the windows down and loud. I’m sure Utopia will continue growing. You know, as an Atiny I love All to Zero and Zero to One, but I think the real challenge comes from now, with One to All. I love seeing you suffer, but you need to know that your suffering is ours, too 😂 For us Atinys is always a sweet suffering ❤ Keep enjoying your journey 😉

Half the fun of watching these reactions is you struggling to figure out how to rank things. There are SO many good songs in their no-skip discography that it feels like you're fighting only boss battles on super hard mode. Haha. Also, Utopia will grow on you even more, just because you'll love the high notes from our Seonghwa on the next listen, and as you put together your various playlists, it'll end up on a few. Glad you enjoyed it and that it grew fast! This album is awesome because there are so many MVs and performance videos for this one (Illusion and Wave were put to a vote among ATINY to choose which was the official title track and which was the secondary song; Aurora is written by Hong Joong and quickly became a fan favorite with its performance video; and Dancing Like Butterfly Wings has a video made after group challenges that they did during their Australian tour leg, but it's on a notoriously bad channel for blocking, so it might be a Patreon deal). This 3rd mini album was my first comeback with ATEEZ and it has sooooooooo much nostalgia for me. Super summery vibes, love playing it driving with the windows down. It’s also super popular with the k-fandom as well, more than any other of their albums as a whole as far as I’ve seen. Utopia actually had a resurgence of popularity in the last year because it kept being played during broadcasts of Korea’s soccer matches during the World Cup haha

This song has become South Korea's football song coz they have been playing it at every South Korean match... Yunho n Jongho went to watch a match last year n they played Utopia at the stadium... Just imagine their happiness... It has become a staple of SK's football broadcasts...😎 The lyrics of the song pulls you even more... Going for ur dreams without losing ur spirit n no matter what anyone says... U shud watch the live version too... Ah, the emotions... Ross, the struggle is real for all of us. You've set yourself such a difficult task with Ateez discography. Sadly, it doesn't get easier. ETA: the Japanese version is, in my opinion, better than the Korean version. So...yeah.

I think the reason the Japanese version hits harder is like the language has “harder” sounds than a lot of Korean (from my understanding) so the song comes off as more impactful because of how they’re hitting those hard “K” sounds and stuff. Idk that’s just my observation from having listened to both songs. I tend toward the Korean just cuz it’s usually the first one I see (cuz album cover) but the Japanese one slaps so hard.

I'll admit i was close to throwing hands, but seeing it next to Promise is a fair compromise Utopia was where i learned about Choi Bros Supremacy. When San and Jongho sing back to back and harmonize, there's nothing quite like it imo Only sad thing is the mv misses the amazing choreo at the end. check out a concert stage to see it, its visually stunning

Does that mean you’re doing Wave soon? I don’t want to give you unrealistic expectations, but Wave is my favorite Kpop song of all time. Simply because I’m the type of person who gets sick of a song after a few dozen listens and has to take a break from that song for awhile. Wave is the only song I have never gotten sick of. I can listen to it hundreds of times (and probably have since I bought it in 2018) and it still puts me in a good mood every time. P.S. I also have a crush on Dancing Like Butterfly Wings.

I accept criteria you've established for yourself but in a more general sense I've always thought that judging Ateez songs off of audio or even audio and MVs only gives way too narrow of impression. With their particular brand of performance I see them much closer to musical theatre and their choreography and stage acting is just as important as the music itself. Nobody (I hope) would review a musical after listening to a CD with songs only :)

Respect that but for me it’s the SONG that I rank here. Performances will elevate a song 9/10 but if they elevate any song, the ranking would probably be identical any way haha
