Jett Racing recently reset the world record with a 6.20 at 229 mph with their 2200HP, 110 PSI compound turbocharged 4g63 monster. Collin Willshire gives Andre a huge amount of detail on the Garrett GT4240 primary and GTX55 secondary turbo setup and the advantages it gives over their previous single turbo setup. Also discussed are compressor maps/turbo efficiency and heat issues along with how the new compound setup is only operating at around 80,000 RPM at 110 PSI compared to the previous system that saw the system that hit 120,000 and much higher heat levels.
With a Bullet Race Engineering billet block, in house produced billet cylinder head, pistons and rods, HKS camshafts and a MoTeC M150 ECU is all built and tuned to safely withstand the abuse and Collin drops some interesting points on the interchangeability of the aftermarket heads and block with factory variants.
Collin also gives us some details on the monster methanol fueling setup which includes a Kinsler mechanical pump and 2750cc Siemens Deka injectors, which there are 5 of…..for each cylinder!

you do not need 2000cc injectors to make 500+ on a 4 cyl but it also boils down to the type of fuel you are running. you need a monster fuel system if you run on alcohol at high hp levels. my current set up on my civic is 1000cc injectors on a 450 pump and the car currently make 502whp on 91 pump gas.

I can remember him discussing methanol/ water injection in dealing with pre ignition. Not much if any recollection of intercoolers or BOV's but i do remember waste gates being mentioned. I remember the prevailing belief that the sizing of turbo to engine was a critical consideration. As i recall there was a belief that there was not much leeway.

I run nitrous oxide to get next frame turbo output out of a smaller turbo that is still responsive enough to be fun for daily use.

@@dj4monie No no, the next logical step would be starting to work with something that has a bit higher oxygen percentage than air, maybe pure oxygen. Now, i know this sounds completlx insane but let me ask you this question: what is more insane, trying to compound a little 4 cylinder to get over 110 psi, wich are around 7,58 bar or just enhance the oxygen percentage so much that you could run without a secondary turbo ;D? I mean, regular gas needs around 14,7:1 fuel-air ratio and nitromethan needs around 1.7:1, so probably would benefit a lot from that, if there wouldn't the high corrosion risk :D. I read about some guys that used an oxygen-CO2 mixture to prevent to much damage .

But it's not really a debate, charge cooling or cooling with fuel. Jett cools with fuel, nothing wrong with that but burns up a ton of fuel. I doubt the Mazworkz car runs that many injectors. @@ogswagkillapbeastmode694 What he means is there is hardly anything left of the original engine. It just has the same basic dimensions and component locations. When you're making a whole new billet block + all forged internals + all new head it hardly even matters what engine you started out with. People have done this sort of thing with Honda engines, Nissan engines, Toyota engines, VW engines, basically any engine there is a good supply of aftermarket parts for. also something to note is that when you add pressure to the inlet of the secondary turbo, the pressure ratio across the secondary's compressor can remain the same but you can achieve much higher boost pressure. in other words this means you can keep your secondary compressor within its optimal pressure ratio zone while drastically increasing its volumetric output (pressure, flow) also, you can think of compounding as turbocharging a turbo that is turbocharging the engine

Why not try a mitsubishi 6G75 engine made of billet bullet engine block technology(crankshaft ,piston rods ,piston ,cylinder head) capable of 5000 hp and put your design on that one using a compound turbo and let see how it turns out to be.

It’s literally all 4g63 internals just cause it’s a got a block strong to make more power doesn’t make it not a 4g63 if the motor never existed non of his parts would exist either it’s a 4g63

@@lucassturgin8710 Okay if you say so.Let's just say it's a Billet 4g63.....They run electric waterpump....external oil pump blah blah.Go put the billet block next to the Factory Block and tell me how much alike they are....I'm not hating here its very impressive.I think these guys run a billet Head too thats designed way different than OEM...

I'm not trying to bicker with you quoting the billet 4G63 block has the OEM DNA, but IMO its more like 4G63 design. Because as from my understanding, there are no OEM material actually in that billet block. the weakness off the orginal 4G63 had been redesigned for this billet item and super improved to not lift heads without a headgasket at that power and boost. It's a prettu amazing piece really.

Why is this non-important fact like to be debated until the cows come home? The real issue is serious output is out of the reach of the average enthusiast. It always has been, because leading edge technology comes at a price and you have to be willing to get to a point to where you need help from people smarter than yourself. There is no reason really to have more than 500 hp in a 4 cylinder car on the street. In-fact it would be fun at 350-400 hp and you can keep the majority of your stock parts. I have goals that require 600-650 hp and I don't close doors otherwise I try to apaise purist while they don't donate a dollar to help me.

I'm a bit confused about the part of weight. He says adding a cooling system adds weight, but adding piping for a second turbo and the turbo itself is lighter? how is that possible? At least with a cooling system you'd have the option of spreading the weight load across the vehicle better, where as a turbo needs to be close to the engine and subsequently limits where you can spread the weight...
