112-New Stihl MS211C Chainsaw Review and Comparison to Husqvarna 120 Mark ii

As we take a look at my new Stihl chainsaw, we start by comparing/contrasting it to my Husqvarna chainsaws and see how chainsaws have evolved over the past 15+ years. And to put the Stihl to the test, Casey and I have a good old fashioned chainsaw race. Hope you find this video not only informative, but also a little entertaining. :)

Heck of a detailed review! Sure there are a number of variables in each cut that might differ, but your results do consistently show a difference. I picked up a FarmBoss last fall to replace my grandfather's MacPro 610, (which I've since resurrected with a complete rebuild) but have also used the Husq models. I could see with your use and the number of trees you have to take down seconds per tree can add up across your lot!

Thanks Dach. I think the real time saver will be the tool-less chain adjustment and bar removal. I should have timed changing the chain on each saw.. I like the see-through tanks as well. Was really just trying to have fun with my nephew while we learned what approach worked best for each type of saw. I should have thrown the 460 Rancher into the mix too.. Thanks for the comments. You're welcome to rebuild my old Husq if you need a smaller limbing saw.

Now that you've had the Stihl MS211C for a bit. How do you like the self-adjuster? Do you find the chain loosening more than the bolt and screw option? Or are they about the same? And do you find the adjuster wheel clogging with dirt requiring some in field cleaning? Thanks.

So I really need to do a follow-up video, since the 1st day I owned this was the best day. Went down hill after that. The features are nice, but the engine lacks power and is hard to start. Even after running it for 30min, I'll shut it off and then can't get it to start again easily. I really wish I had taken it back and spent another $200-300 more for a good saw. I've been told that any Stihl under $600 or 700 is really just a Poland, and not actually a Stihl. I don't know if that's true, but the way this saw runs is exactly the way my old Poland piece of junk cheapo saw ran. I definitely regret this purchase. Sorry my initial experience was good, because I don't want this video to be miss leading. I may just take it down. Thanks for reaching out. Hope you didn't buy one based on this review. If want a better cutting go buy non safety pro chain. The newer stihls are sure alot nicer then the old one for sure. The 120 Husky is basicly like poulan after so many hours the saw will fail,poor design. If I was going to do firewood on a farm a Stihl 211 and a Stihl 391. The Huskies you have are all consumer units and tend to be heavier but not as well built as pro saws.

Thanks for the pro tip. Yes, I haven't been as happy with my 251 since that 1st day. I'm trying to give it more time before I give a negative follow-up review. But once I have enough hours on it, I'll do a follow-up. And if it doesn't start working better soon, I'll take it back and try to pay the difference to upgrade.
