A SS396 or 454 is not a Chevelle unless it was ordered with the ZL2 Cowl Induction Flapper Hood. Note that ZL2 cars only got the hood pins and front signal light covers are white and not amber. If you don’t want to wear out your shift forks then do not rest your hand on the shifter. P.S. Don’t play music in a video.

wearing out transmission parts is a myth... ill give you an example, i daily a 5 speed mustang GT, i rest my hand on the shifter all the time and i float gears EVERYWHERE if im driving casual... that being said, ive been driving that car every day for 3 years, do you really think a show piece like this is going to get worn out, with the MINIMAL miles it will see a year??? there is babying a vehicle and there is beating the shlt out of a vehicle to within an inch of its life, i drive my cars somewhere in-between that. itl be alright.

If the 5 speed shifter is mounted on top of the tranny rather than the side then the forks will not wear. Your comparing apples to oranges with the Muncie 4 spd mechanical shifter with shifter rods connected to the side of the tranny for the 1-2 and 3-4 shift arms. The 5 spd is a whole different animal and it can’t be compared to a Muncie.

Chevrolet gave the hemi a good run for the money and this was the ultimate street sweeper I aways wanted one its so sought after today this car is like a nuclear missile you know something will happen if your press the button legendary cars

Would have been a much better video without that background music. That LS6 is a mechanical orchestra all on it's own. No other sound needed.

The build sheet showed 3:31 ratio gears but the car has 4:10. Did I miss something?

Love the m22 gearbox the whining sound because it has strait cut gears and like you stated this car should be enjoyed not put up as a static art piece that are meant to be driven

Drives it like old woman this is coming from my 78 yo grandad with 2 Chevelles one LS 6 and one Yenko 427 and 65 425 396 corvette 63 fuelie corvette I can hear pops half mile from the house ... he always says the secondaries need to be loosened up ... all are manual transmission cars also he cannot Stand for old iron not being driven as designed...
