Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century CE (year 1250) Sun temple at Konark about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northeast from Puri on the coastline of Odisha, India.
The temple is attributed to king Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty about 1250 CE

I visited this temple in the month of October 2021. This is very huge temple and is the only Sum temple in the world. The main temple is blocked and filled with sand and bricks from inside. Nobody can enter in this temple. You can see only outer walls of this large Sun temple. This temple is still so beautiful that you can imagin the magnificent of this Sun temple at the time when it was built. I advise every visiter of Lord Jagannath Temple to visit the Marvel of Indian rich heritage. Every Indian will feel proud after having seen this great master piece of Indian architech . Thanks dear for making such beautiful and knowledgeable video.

The Sun temple is one of the best temple not only in Odisha but also in the world. The temple is a beautiful architecture and it's main door closed due to no other reason, the only reason behind to save the temple from Nature for a long time.

Do you know? The Idol of the Sun God inside Konark Temple was built of a material with iron content & was used to float in air without any support due to the unique arrangements of the top, bottom and the reinforced magnets around temple walls before the Portuguese destroyed it. The uniqueness of the Sun Temple of Konark lies in the fact that it was built with an architectural setup of various magnets. During the construction of the main tower of the temple the artisans put an iron plate between every two stone pieces. Lodestone at the top of temple was said to be a massive 52ton magnet.Placement of the main temple & the Sun God had been aligned in such a way that the first ray of Sun from the coast would cross the Nata Mandir&would fall&reflect from the diamond placed at the crown of Sun God.

@@thejourney..9568 During the British rules, steps were taken for conservation of the remaining part of the temple. To save the Jagmohan from possible collapse, the four entrances were permanently closed, and the interior was filled with sand vertically from the top by drilling a hole and pouring sand through a funnel. This was started in 1901 and completed in 1904 under the supervision of Bishan Swarup, Executive Engineer.

The structure you see in this video is just the gate of temple. Actual temple (Garbh Griha) was destroyed approximately 350-400 years ago. There were few oil paintings done by British painters during the early stages of East India Company, where the actual temple can be seen in half broken condition. This is the only temple in india where idol was suspending in air with the contemporary Engineering. I belong to Puri, which is 40 kms from Konark.

Not true. The shiva linga in Somnath was in a suspended state. Ghazni was intrigued enough to check if there were any magnets. He removed stones from inside the temple but could not locate any magnet. Furustated, he destroyed the sanctum sanatorium.

You told that ... the person who completed this temple he suicided . The boy who suicide his name is Dharmapad and he was only 12 years old. Actually his father Bisu maharana designed this temple. Due to some problem the head of the temple could not set perfectly. He failed every time. At last king Narsingh dev ordered that if he can't complete this temple in 7 days then bisu maharana and the mechanics head will be cut down. After that only darmapad completed the head of the temple. If king knew that the small boy done this work then he would be angry and followed his order so dharmapad suicide.... Thank you sir for share this video 🙏 I am from Odisha I read this story in class 4 in my odia book.. This story has too interesting things..

There was a large Black Stone Statue of Sapta Rishi in this Konark Temple. Which was taken away by the Britishers to London and is very well installed near the back door of British Museum, London. The Government of India must bring the said Statue back to India.

Kala pahad was no Mughal king. He was a General, a Hindu -Kalachand Bhaduri who converted to Islam to marry a Muslim princess and vented his ire on his Hindu brethren who had shunned him..Kala pahad too pleasure murdering Hindus and destroying Hindu temples.

While travelling to Bhubaneswar.. I was told by locals that once their was a floating statue in Konark which was held together by 2 huge magnets. It was distroyed during invasions.... Don't know if it's true or not but locals told me this..

Actually MODIJI ko pehle desh ko thik karna, infrastructure majboot karni hai. Waise to Orissa ki infrastructure bahut achchi hai aur Patnaik use kai salonse manage kar rahe hai. BJP ko Patnaik se relationship bigadni nahi hai ,kyonki unka hamesha bjp ko support rehta hai. People must request ratherr pressurise Patnaik govt for it.Jai Hind!
