12 Day Hiking Mt. Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lakes | Nov 2023

In October-November 2023, fourteen of us hiked to Mount Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lakes. This proved to be the best hike I have ever experienced. Everest Base Camp (EBC) is more than just a checkbox or a destination signaling us to turn back; it is a symbolic milestone. However, the journey toward it, with its stunning mountains, glaciers, rivers, terrains, and the trail we traversed, is incredibly beautiful and breathtaking. The physical pain we endured along the way was real, but the joy it brought was for the soul. Undoubtedly, there is something enriching for the soul in this experience.

Day 1: Kathmandu ► Ramechhap (Drive) ► Lukla (Flight) ► Phakding (Hike)
Day 2: Phakding ► Namche Bazaar
Day 3: Namche Bazaar ► Khumjung
Day 4: Khumjung ► Dole
Day 5: Dole ► Machermo
Day 6: Machermo ► Gokyo
Day 7: Gokyo (4th & 5th Lake)
Day 8: Gokyo ► Thangnak
Day 9: Thangnak ► Dzongla
Day 10: Dzongla -► Lobuche
Day 11: Lobuche ► Gorakshep ► EBC ► Gorakshep
Day 12: Gorakshep ► Pheriche
Day 13: Pheriche ► Lukla (Helicopter) ► Ramechhap (Flight) ► Kathmandu (Drive)

Congratulations for ebc on Nov. thanks for sharing the route. Can u also share names of tea houses? Why did you have to take helicopter 🚁 from pheriche ? Was it evacuation? How much did the helicopter ride cost

Thanks. We were tired after 12 days, and since we will be hiking along the same route that we previously hiked, we decided to shorten our trip by 2 days by taking a helicopter :). It costed around $300 per head (we were 9).
