Suggestion for a tweak of format.. You pick your model (with varying points values) and then at then you have 12 hours to paint and base it as well as possible - The community then votes on the winner who gets the points. Do you pick a high value mini thats more complex or something nice and simple where you can put more work into it?

I prefer seeing you paint a single model in 12 hours, rather than attempting to paint an army. You’re able to give the single model more attention to detail and it’s interesting to see what decisions you make along the way. Whereas painting an army just ends up speed painted. You’ll both level up your painting within no time if you keep practicing like this too. What you can achieve in 12 hours now, you might be able to do in 8 hours in the near future. Ps, what a superb model the Lion is! I need to get myself one!

What I like about stilt boy is that in the lore he’s meant to be a living watch tower, so the feet you’ve painted covered in sand makes sense

I love the combat patrol challenges, but I also wouldn't wish them on my worst enemies! I think if you do continue to do them, breaking them up with things that are a lot more enjoyable like Hero Hammer would help a lot. Also lovely work on the minis lads!

As an admech player, I would highly recommend painting electro priests, onager dunecrawlers, tech priest dominus, and sicarians. I thought you might enjoy these more than some other models on our range. Unless you want to actually collect an army, would stay away from kataphrons, pteraxii, and serberys. They're really cool models, but they aren't always fun to paint. Especially kataphrons. Also, the weird tail-thing is a sacred incense burner.

Wish I had both of your conviction to push through paint schemes. I tend to be indecisive; it's the main reason I have a hard time finishing 2000 pts worth.

Like the hero hammer series so far. Just hope theres a season 2 of combat patrol some day. Liked how you put a mini relaxed tutorial in there with the cape. More of that would be awesome

I think the Lion turned out pretty well. With a few more hours you could definitely have pushed the shadows and highlights a bit further and maybe get a little creative with some freehanding. The Ad mech dude did look fairly easy and was surprised it was chosen. The 3 point catergory seems like the safest option for points from now on then. However, I think taking advantage of this challenge by painting models that can be added to existing armies is how I would approach this challenge, even if its in the 1 point category. I cant wait to see the next challenge! AlsoI think mixing Combat Patrol and Spearhead together would be aweomse like yall did for this challenge. If yall started it up again next year there should be a decent amount of Spearhead sets out. Maybe not enough to do a whole challenge on but mixed with new updated Combat Patrols there should be plenty of those yall havent done yet to have a fun challenge with. Also maybe consider doing 24 hour challenges this go around. Putting 12 hours into just a single model should really have opened yalls eyes as to how crazy doing a Combat Patrol in 12 hours looks lol. 12 hours seems like enough time(at least one of you lol), but 24 hours would give you guys the extra time to really put good work into the models and not drive yourselves crazy haha

Another round of highlights on the lion, a bit of blending on the cape, and a glaze the black to hide the sponge overspill and I think it is onto a really really good paint job. You should firstly - Match the basing style for the next herohammer challenge, and then build a diorama base for them both to slot into (suggestion previously) Also, give the lion 3 points, and at the end of the herohammer seriers, give each of you an additional 12 hours, which can be spent however you like to improve any models in the series.

I believe I can help with the whole spin span problem... the correct word is spand with a 'd'...spand.

The Lion is such a good mini that even as a BT player I'm probably going to pick him up after I get done with Grimaldus and Helbrecht. I wish Guilliman's mini was as good, to be honest.

You should let whichever Kieran is painting the 1 pointer do more minis in the 12 hrs to score bonus points, otherwise this challenge will be one sided… who am I kidding, ‘negative’ Kieran will lose regardless 😅

Excellent work bith of you! I don't think I could ever paint something as complicated as The Lion in the tike you have. But the Skatros was impressive as well. Especially the visor, top-teir work on it imo! However, I'd like to ask, how did you do the base exactly for the Skatros? Both the material and the paints used to get that nice Martian earth look. Maybe I missed it in the video, but I'd still like to know because I want to do something similar with one of my armies. Also. T A L L B O I

I actually do paint my dark angels witb the heresy colors, don't have the lion but I love my bladegaurd and have a couple other models with swords and such

Why don't you run a poll for favourite model and award a couple of bonus points? That way it is a balance between perfecting a small model but getting fewer base points, and being more ambitious but maybe not getting it to the level you want?
