12 Hours in the Amazing City of Gdansk in Poland
Join me as I spend the day in the amazing city of Gdansk in Poland.
I have added it to my list of 'Open Air Museum City ' and discover why, as we roam the magnificent streets of Gdansk in Poland.
We explore the Gdansk Central Market and go on a mission to create the ideal Polish Sausage Sandwich.
Meet the friendly people of Gdansk as we enjoy their company and share some special moments and delicious foods with them.
If you enjoy adventure videos in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, then grab your Vodka, some Zakuskas and join me on this trip to Gdansk , Port City in Poland!!!

Querky fun video. It's great you passed the kindness you received earlier on by sharing your meal with that chap. Small act that could of been a life saver. You never know. I love Gdansk. The reconstructions were built under Communism, which makes it all the more remarkable. The difference between now and how it used to be is the shops are full and the people have money. Old town Gdansk is now not only beautiful, but increasingly prosperous. Happy Days. I can't wait to return again myself. Thanks again.

I have been visiting Poland since the 90s but unfortunately only discovered Gdansk in 2001. Truly a gem of a place. Thank you so much for watching and enjoy your next trip to Gdansk.

What did all those shops used to be along those pedestrian streets? History is fascinating to me, especially living history told by people I am fortunate to cross paths with. @@J.E.E I like living in England. I do not have any problems. Nobody has any problems with my nationality. Often, when I buy Polish products not in Polish stores, people say: my grandfather was Polish, my father was Polish. My first boss in England had a Polish grandfather. He could not return to Poland because of the politics after the war. I do not know why, but only now more and more people admit that he is 50% Polish and 50% English. We have many applications for Polish citizenship. I hope you'll be in Poland more often😊

In Poland on one is using mayonnaise as a spread. That's so american or maybe english too. Only butter. We use mayo with boiled eggs and add it along with mustard to salad made of cooked veggies As for chrzan (horseradish) it's mainly used with a sausage called white sausage but it's made of pork.

Hey Shadow, I love the local feedback form the locals!!! As a matter of fact the Sandwich is an English invention by the Earl of Sandwich, there for I may have an opinion on what a good sandwich is. My rule is simple, 2 Slices of delicious bread and amazing ingredients in between!!! So long as the ingredients are of a certain origin, then to me it is a Polish sandwich. When you travel as much as I do, you appreciate the sandwich very much, it is the perfect on the go food, as for what goes in it... I like to be creative. As for Horseradish you eat with sausage, the Russians with Kholodets, and the Jews with gefilte fish, and believe me it is fantastic in a sandwich 😊 Thanks for watching and for the comment. Some background how it was to rebuild Gdansk which was destroyed by WW2. There are English subtiltes. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fKqRZtOer8fUeXU.html Gdansk was in the past Polish, then for 123 years Prussian and German, after WW1 it was THe Free City of Danzing ruled by The League of Nations and from 1945 Polish. See why Gdynia was built to understand what was Gdansk before WW2. Here short story: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gdynia#Construction_of_the_seaport
