Funny you said "cover those logos on other bags" because that is what brought me here. I am covering Yeti's big ol' logo on my new lunch cooler.

Many years ago I read in a magazine about a way to repurpose leftover scraps of thread or fabric. I don’t remember if they used mod podge to do this but they made a clear bowl with bits of fabric or thread or both embedded binding substance and shaping it over a plastic bowl or balloon and let dry. It made a very colorful container that was clear and the fabric/thread added color and texture to the result. Is that something that you could demonstrate? Thank you for all you do!

Oh.... yes - we made something similar for Easter one year. We used thread and yarn to make string eggs. Yes - we can do a video on that!

I soak them in water for about 20 min. Then I run water over them. To get them super clean I run them across a silicone makeup brush cleaning pad. It has little ridges. I get mine at the dollar store.

Wow I so very wanted to love this product. I bought some from Michael’s and brought it home and even bought a special Mod Podge brush to use on some felt and when I got the mod podge open I couldn’t pour it out into a dish to dip the wide brush. I tried to pour it...wouldn’t pour. I had to use a spoon to scoop it out it was THAT thick and having never used the fabric type of Mod Podge before, I first tried to use it. I was thinking maybe that’s the consistency of the or something. It’s odd but I didn’t think much of it until four hours later we weren’t seeing anything vaguely resembling drying and I got concerned & went online & watched a few videos and it is an obvious NOT supposed to be this THICK. THIS was actually thicker than Elmers glue and I’m afraid I hope I didn’t ruin a couple of parts to a large project. I went to Michaels for exchange, but every bottle they had was the same wayHas anybody else had this problem?
@chrisem79
@chrisem79 2 жыл бұрын
First of all, I want to say that I'm just a fellow crafter -- I have no connection to this or any other ModPodge or Michael's business/products. These demonstrations are directed towards small scale projects -- under 1-2 square feet. It's a given that for larger projects you must adjust your methods and mediums.. You did not give the specifics of your project. I would think anything over 2' x 2' should be applied with a roller (mini paint roller) in order to get an even coat. Also -- I would make sure the consistency (dilution) of your medium is that of mayonaise rather than thick paste. Which translates to thinner coats, longer drying times, and more applications. The artistry of larger projects has more to do with the understanding of the medium than it has to the inspiration of the form. True story.

I'm not sure what Mod Podge formula you are thinking about using.... are you thinking about using Fabric Mod Podge as a top-coat over fabric paint. For fabric paints you usually just need to heat set them to be washable. I would not think you would need a Mod Podge top-coat.

I want to watch, but the jingly-jangly, bippity-boppity music is too much. Whoever told all the youtubers that there MUST be music playing, really did you all a diservice. Sometimes less is more, and this is one of those times. Dang it. I was really looking forward to seeing all the projects, too. 😑
