fun piece of trivia- the writers planned out s3 and 4 at once and even rented out a warehouse space so they could put the plot on giant whiteboards and move each one around to make sure they had their timelines absolutely perfect.

I kid you not: the whole montage of Olivia escaping, finding Titan, telling her minions where The Witness will be and killing her brother is the best freaking piece of editing on this show! Stephen Barton's soundtrack (unsurprisingly, called We Honor Time With Patience) is just so amazing in that scene. You watch it and your heart races like crazy, it is such an epic moment.

It's so fun to see new people goes through the same emotional rollercoaster with this show as I was, watching it for the first time. I really think this is the one perfect circled time travel show that ever been made.

I love that this show literally does two red herrings for the witness and it’s amazing 😂 S1 is like: omg Ramse is the witness and then S2 is like: wait no it’s Cole and Cassie’s son! And then S3 is like: actually, it’s been Olivia this whole time!! 😂

That reveal was so good, kudos for picking up on it Kyle, I had not figured it out before this episode. About the fewer episodes in season 3: after season 1 and 2 there was always talk of SyFy cancelling the show, like they cancelled a lot of other series after 1 season. But because some of the higherups of SyFy wanted to know how it would end they gave the writers 20 episodes to wrap the story up. There is an excellent official (as well as fan) podcast in which this is explained. It's a real treat to listen to. They also admitted that they would have made 12 or 13 episodes in the final 2 seasons if they had the chance, but this was the best option they could get.

One of the reasons S3 might of had fewer episodes is the network decided to do a binge release of it over 1 weekend on the Syfy channel: 4 episodes on Friday, and then 3 each episodes on Saturday and Sunday. They did a similar thing with S4 except they did it over a succession of four Fridays. So if you'd like to experience Season four how the viewer did back in 2018. Then watch E1-3 back to back, then E4-6, E7-9, and finally the 2 part finale E10 & 11. Craig Silverstein and Terry Matalas started working together as writers (and later producers) on the enjoyable, but short-lived series *Terra Nova.* After that they worked together again on the highly enjoyable reboot series *Nikita.* If you haven't watched that, you should, a lot of actors from that ended up on *12 Monkeys* either as regulars or for guest star roles were in that show too. So after enjoying both series it was a foregone conclusion I would at least check out their next project, 12 Monkeys, another series reboot. I have no idea why the critics initially didn't like it in season 1 as it was great out of the great. Probably just them prejudging it since the film is held in such high regard. Craig's next series after this, *Turn: Washington's Spies* set during the revolutionary war, was also great. He's also creator of a new animated series drama currently under production called *Pantheon* which I'm sure I'll check out at some point.

The thing is ultimately I end up feeling really bad for Olivia. She is the true, and greatest victim in all of this. The entire reason for her existence was the promise that the red forest would be a paradise, so she believed that all of her suffering, and all of the death she has caused personally, and th egenocide of the species will all be worth it in the end. Thing is once Athon has his change of heart, then all of that pain and suffering and death and genocide was all for just the indulgence of one man.
