Until scientists come up with the type of matter transporters which are used to move people from one place to the other in science fiction, planes will remain the fastest and most efficient way to travel long distances in short spaces of time. All of the world’s major cities have airports, offering flights from one side of the world to another. Not all planes end their lives in an airport hanger though - some of them land in strange locations, before becoming the type of abandoned curiosity you’re about to see in this video.

Just like when he called the Olympic Airlines 747 an Airbus I think he mispoke and meant to say the only intact complete B-17E variant left in the world. I believe all the remaining intact B-17s in the world in museums and flying are all of the F and G variants. I don't believe there is a E variant anywhere on display. So that may be what he meant to say. Its Definately NOT the only B-17 left.

The purported BE-12 on the pylon is obviously not this type of aircraft. The engines are radial piston engines and not turboprops that would be found on the BE-12. I suspect that the aircraft is actually a much older design that preceded the BE-12 in Soviet service.

The aircraft on the pylon is a BE-6, much older than the BE-12 with very little in common between the two.

Ah....There's a fully flying B17 that flies with the Commemorative Air Force and not to mention complete examples in museums across the country. Swamp Ghost is by far not the only surviving intact B-17 from war time. Even considering the USAF Museum in Dayton has the Memphis Belle for starters that they fully restored.
