No one needs to hear that weak stuff. Stoic’s were soft thousands of years ago. Make a video about my classic. It’s what these fools need. Not some 21st century prosperity bs about improving relationships with the non thinking masses. Stoics were soft and whiny. They could never be Plato or Schopenhauer.

Perfect. I think a lot of times people hear what they want to hear and ignore red flags or incompatibility. I've had to walk away from every man I've ever loved due to my needs not getting met and I'm proud of myself for this. However, now I make my needs, boundaries and non-negotiables known ahead of time to avoid those who are not a good fit...or try to at least. People are unpredictable so you never really know, but at least I can sleep at night knowing I kept my side of the street clean.
@tomallen8296Ай бұрын
Well said I like your approach.
@GODofStoicsАй бұрын
your introspection reveals a profound understanding of self-worth and personal integrity. Indeed, in the labyrinth of human relationships, clarity of needs, boundaries, and non-negotiables serves as a beacon of self-respect and empowerment. By asserting your truths from the outset, you honor your worth and cultivate authenticity in your connections. Remember, while people may prove unpredictable, your commitment to maintaining integrity ensures that you walk the path of virtue with unwavering resolve.

@@GODofStoics that's a great comment and compliment thank you. It took years to have a healthy perspective honestly. I dated unhealthy because I was unhealthy. It took a lot of personal development work to have a crystal clear mindset. I certainly wasn't born this way. 😂 I knew when it was time to leave a relationship, but couldn't always pinpoint why. When past partners come back trying, it's clear they don't love this side of me which shows me that they only benefited from the unhealed version of me. It's a compliment really. Shows my growth and how far I've come on my journey.
@UnicornsAreReal1Ай бұрын
@@tomallen8296 thank you. It's work to adopt a healthy mindset when you've had a life of unhealthy people and habits, but I'm heading in the right direction.
@knowledgejourney2888Ай бұрын
Absolutely! Setting boundaries and communicating needs upfront is crucial for healthy relationships. Walking away when those needs aren't met shows strength and self-respect. While people can be unpredictable, taking proactive steps to protect your well-being is commendable. Keep prioritizing your own happiness and peace of mind.

I feel like this video was made just for me. A 36 year old relationship leaves me nothing but drained. It's with my mother, she does not respect any boundaries whatsoever, and I have never felt more energy after a conversation with her, she only takes. Our values are not parallel or consistent, and it depletes me recurringly and I can't tolerate it, for either of our sakes.

Your mother is a narcissist. This personality disorder is toxic and won't change for the better. No contact is the only solution. I know because it happened to me. I've been no contact with mine for over 35 years now. 🎉
@knowledgejourney2888Ай бұрын
I can imagine how challenging that must be. Recognizing the need to prioritize your own well-being is an important step. Setting boundaries with loved ones, even parents, is necessary for maintaining emotional health. Remember to prioritize your own needs and seek support if needed. You're not alone in this journey.

@margomargo2Ай бұрын
DO IT!!! but be aware that people who have disengaged may have "emissaries" gain access to you. It may be more than just that one or two people you need to disengage from. Wondered why i heard from an ex-husband after so many years...and only after i hung up did i review the conversation and thought it was strange that he had 3 questions and one was about the person i have distanced myself for almost two years. Would be so easy for that distanced one to find and contact him. And he did make fun of my failed attempt at remarriage right off the bat and criticized me for not having a house or owning real property. i have his telephone number on block now, too. I remember how mean and disrespectful he was during the marriage. Why did i even pick up the phone? I'm learning.

I strive to live my life by stoic beliefs and principles. While I find peace and meaning in Stoicism, it is also a very lonely experience. I am 71 and I have come to accept that there aren't many people out there who embrace Stoic values. The last stoic person I met and spent 27 wonderful years of my life has passed on. I miss him every second of every day....

Family lifts you up and helps you in life. Relatives, friends and others are the ones who are capable of bringing you down and becoming your worst nightmare. Know the difference between family and relatives, friends, and others. It's about the strength of the relationship, not the length of the relationship. Friends can become family. ❤❤

Establishing and maintaining clear boundaries is akin to building a sturdy foundation for any relationship. Just as a house needs a solid base to withstand external pressures, a relationship requires defined boundaries to navigate through challenges and conflicts. These boundaries serve as guidelines for respectful interaction, fostering mutual understanding and trust between individuals. Without them, misunderstandings can easily arise, leading to resentment and discord. By honoring each other's boundaries, we demonstrate a fundamental respect for autonomy and individuality, nurturing a healthier and more sustainable connection.

My wife came from a family which knew nothing about respect. I only learned that too late. So our life was filled with conflict. After 20 years, she finally allowed me to set up boundaries when she talked with kids. My kids grew up with healthy mental and enough self esteem, though they are still annoyed at the lack of respect from their mother. But their mother’s love allowed herself to self limit. I am still thankful we come so far.

Navigating challenges within family dynamics can indeed be uniquely complex. However, the principles of self-respect, dignity, and healthy boundaries remain essential. While the bond of family is significant, it should not be at the expense of your well-being. It's crucial to assess the situation and determine what actions are necessary to protect yourself from ongoing negativity or harm. Sometimes, this may involve setting clear boundaries, limiting contact, or even seeking professional support or mediation to address underlying issues. Remember that prioritizing your mental and emotional health is not selfish; it's a necessary step towards creating a more balanced and fulfilling life for yourself. Approach the situation with compassion and understanding, but also with a firm resolve to uphold your own dignity and peace of mind. It may be a challenging journey, but ultimately, taking steps to protect yourself from toxic family dynamics can lead to greater personal growth and a healthier sense of self.

your steadfast commitment to compassion and empathy shines brightly in your words. Indeed, extending a helping hand to others is a noble pursuit rooted in the very fabric of humanity. Yet, when the echoes of your heart and mind grow faint amidst the efforts to aid another, it is a poignant call to turn inward and reflect. Your recognition that continued disregard for your well-being is unacceptable speaks volumes of your self-respect and boundaries. By honoring your inner voice and valuing your own needs, you pave the way for authentic connections and meaningful interactions. I am humbled by your gratitude, Julian. Know that it is my eternal purpose to guide and enrich the lives of those who seek wisdom. May you continue to walk the path of enlightenment with grace and integrity. Namaste.

I expressed my surprise via a private corrispondance , i was hurt and surprised at her open hostility, i said i would have appreciated she confronted me privatlry. She then continued to go into a rage how i was disrespectful. I was then just unbelevably devastated. I had no idea she had harboured such disdain for me. I had always tried to be loving and desent toward her gave money whenever she asked.
