One thing that he did not mention has to do with the polarity of the rare earth magnet for the stem. Before you put the one in the end of the stem, make sure that it connects with the one already in the apple. If not, it will "push" away and you can't put the stem on.

This is really cool. Can I put a blade stabilizer on a Rikon 10-305 10" bandsaw. Do they make them for it?
@adamjackson823 жыл бұрын
Thanks Alex! I've gotten myself a second hand Universal 14" bandsaw made in Taiwan in 1985, still works pretty well but the blades it came with were dull. Got myself a 27mm 4tpi blade and a 6mm 4tpi blade. I think the wide one is too wide, as it hits up against the bottom guides and either they won't go back further than I can get them, or they have partially seized. What do you think? The thinner blade cuts like crazy compared to the old dull blades but leaves very large saw marks. Am I better off getting a thin blade with larger tpi? David from Make Something uses a 3/16" 4tip skip tooth blade and seems to get pretty good results.
@bandsawlife26603 жыл бұрын
I really need like a 3/8” greenwood blade from Carter Products for this size saw. If the bearings are seized that will definitely make a rougher cut

I live in Ireland and having bought the Carter blade guide for my Jet 18QT and followed your set up procedure and I totally agree there is no such thing as blade drift. I do have one question - I was resawing and 8" piece of Yew with lots of inclusions and knots and got a lot of striations and ridges in certain areas. My feed rate was steady and not forceful. Any idea what I have got wrong or is it just the timber? Thanks

Great video! Oh, I wish I could use a Carter blade stabilizer but, alas, they don't make one that will fit my machine (Grizzly G0555XH). I'm gonna try it without having a stabilizer and hopefully I can pull it off. Again, thanks for the great video!

I’m not sure who told you that but they do, I believe it’s a STD1 please Call Kris to verify. 888-622-7837
@searl12 жыл бұрын
@@bandsawlife2660 Thank you, so much. I ordered a guide upgrade and the told me the GRI14 would work on my saw. The problem is that when Grizzly updated the 555 to the "XH" they use a square guide post and the guides are designed for a round one. They sent the stabilizer that goes with the GRI14 so of course I couldn't use it. They said to return it and I did. NOW...... having looked at the STD1 online and my stock guides, I'm pretty sure you are correct. The stabilizer is my priority anyway, so I'm going to order that. Again, thanks for the info and keep the videos coming ... they're great!
