When my kids were babies I would use corn starch on diaper rash. Just a few tablespoons in the diaper and rash would be gone like MAGIC!!

Also use corn starch in Asian cooking, or to "silken" chicken, shrimp, pork, beef(like for stir-fry's or dumpling mixtures. Gives it gloss, helps with tenderizing in marinades.

I grew my own corn this year and at first I didnt know what to use it for but now I use it all the time. Its also a huge improvement on what you can buy at the store, it adds a subtle sweetness.

Moms!!! When one of your children accidentally pees in bed. Or animal stains. Clean the area with a mixture of half water half white vinegar. Then pile on the cornstarch over wet area. It will suck up the moisture. And remove any stain from the fabric. It works with sofas and or mattresses. Don’t be stingy with the cornstarch on top. It may take a whole day for the cornstarch to harden. Depending on the weather. But it should be completely hardened. Then simply vacuum up.

I used vinegar but I’m going to try cornstarch now too. Thanks. My dog would pee all over the carpeted floor & we rent 😬 we have 3 sets of washable puppy pads but she’d miss or just not care,2 sets of the sets weren’t big enough but I combine them anyways. I spent about $120 getting 2 washable rugs to help tame it.

I don't use olive oil very often, I keep it in the dark bottle it comes in and store it in cool dark place(not the refrigerator) and it still gets rancid. Help me learn what I'm doing wrong. Thank you in advance.

Great tips I never heard of. Have to try some of those! I use cornstarch in place of talcum powder. I put about a half box of cornstarch in a bowl and spray it with a few sprays of my favorite cologne, whisk it together and spoon it into a covered powder dish. I use a powder puff from the store or I have also used a terry cloth covered sponge from a auto parts store, the kind you use for rubbing on wax on your car. Both work great.

You can also add a couple of tablespoons of cornstarch to your favourite cookie dough. Give you crispy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside.

Great for chafing. When I worked in an open air, high-paced tourist restaurant with no AC as a server, we used to keep a box of corn starch in the kitchen bathroom. By the end of a long shift, the guys would always joke when we were making "crotch gravy", which often went along with Tit-gravy and "cowboy walk". Only servers (and maybe nurses) will know this.

Cornstarch is gluten free but it does contain the lectin Zein which can be another prolamine tight junction disrupter. Maybe that’s why it can loosen knots? 😂

I could OD on the scent of Chinese Five Spice powder, but there it sits on my spice rack -- lonely and unused! I think I bought it for some recipe that called for a half teaspoon. Another lonely, unused spice on my rack? Coriander. How to use both of these spices so they don't morph into "ancient, fermented dust? 😞

Corn starch over wheat flour any day in gravy. You won't have that raw flour taste with corn starch slurry.
