Thanks for the tips! I've built my farm to be optimized to provide everything I can possibly need. The downside to that is how ugly it all looks. I'll try to find a way to build a nice looking farm that's still super productive!

I'm so used to min-maxing that even though I'm 8 years in game, I find it so hard to decorate. After watching this video, I'm so excited to try re-decorating again! I've painted my buildings and honestly can't find a nice combo I like, the colours are either too bright or too dull.

Stardew Valley: 2 in-game years playing the game followed by 4 more in-game years designing, decorating, and landscaping. :D One of the most helpful tips for me when starting a new farm is deciding what I want to accomplish before going in. This way I can choose which map will work best and start moving towards my goals from day one. For example, my next farm will be designed around the 4 Obelisks and I'll use the 4 Corner map with each of the corners designed around one of the obelisks....mountains, beach, desert, island. I can't wait to use some of the tips you showcased in this video!!

to be completely honest, when i think about redecorating i get overwhelmed! i’m on year 4 and have always favored an efficient farm over aesthetic, but now that i have a ton of money and no longer rly need to grind i really want to make it look pretty! i compare my farms to others and get stressed, thinking “omg where do i start”. i think i just need to remember that it’s a game and i’m supposed to have fun and make it my own! i will try and remember that lol. thank you for all the tips and ideas!

I personally use item spawner to give myself furniture/wallpapers after I buy the catalogs. Since the catalogs make them free anyways and I'd like to be able to search for them. Plus getting onetime quest items is fun. Can't go wrong with a shed filled with lucky purple shorts and golden lewis statues lmao

This is an interesting video to keep in mind I’m planning to start over but in my most recent edit to the inside of my house I made the room next to my ingame son’s room(well it’s prepared for him but hadn’t gotten the chance for the character I married to ask for a kid yet) was kind of meant to have an early 2000s-ish feel mixed with vapor wave.(I think I used a sunset looking wallpaper with multiple small photos wall item) Thanks to the update that added the fish tanks I plan to get as many large fish tanks as I can & put the legendary fish in them. They were originally kept in a chest in a shed meant to be my secret adventurer room(it’s full of items I got from the museum, the trophy for helping the community center, game cabinets & so on) hidden behind the giant bear statue but now I have a place for them. The new room add ons have made me think on what setups to work on. I want to try & turn the island farm house I can eventually unlock into a pirate themed place maybe.

You can add floor tiles below a building. Just move the building with wizard or robin then add the tiles then put it back in its place.

Once you upgrade your house with the kitchen, I place a small aquarium in the empty space in between the northwest corner. It's the perfect spot for an item and jazzes up the kitchen. I also love placing torches in my fences. The lighting looks great at night.

my tip is to use machines outside the farm focuse on making the farm beautifull and crops or animals just look at npc pathing

Adding the time mod will allow you to pause time so you can edit your farm without the clock making you feel bad

I chose the wilderness farm. That is my only regret.

I think the problem a lot of us have is we are considering landscaping before we've got perfection, so we worry about efficiency and practicality too. When landscaping you need to ignore practicality and just go for looks. I've got my obelisks near my house for convenience, instead of where they will look good. But by the time I've got perfection, I want to move on to a new game! =/
